Letang is always going to be worth more to your team than what he can get in return. It's like the Caps trying to trade Ovechkin, GM's just look at the player in a weird light due to being labeled as "elite talent" and yet their GM is trying to move them. Also his health concerns warrant any team from mortgaging their future for a guy who may not play in 60% of games in a season on a semi-annual basis.

Maatta continues to lose value and again is probably worth more to the Penguins than what the return would be. He still have upside, he's still young, and his injuries may have delayed his progression but likely didn't stunt it. I could see a young team like the Devils, Av's, Jet's, or Yotes going after him due to his age and yet he is more of a veteran in terms of Olympics, World Cup, and Stanley Cup playoffs than 80% of the league. He could easily fetch a top 6 forward from any of the teams I just mentioned.

I'd think of a Hornqvist trade similar to a Kessel trade but based around much less value. The Kessel trade worked because Kapenen had a chance to be a Kessel-type player down the road, but also a 1st round pick, depth forward and a decent defensive prospect. Penguins would likely want to get a team's young prospect with a similar game, and maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick. While Horny only has one year left on his deal, he is still one of the best net front presence players in the game and no one ever complains about the effort he brings. He can play up and down the lineup, being effective in many different ways.

Olli Maatta value most likely is a swap of another yound defenseman who may need a change. Value would improve if he stays healthy and play well in playoffs but his injury history hampers his value. Right now I'd say an older steady defenseman/forward and a pick would be his value but depends on the team. John Moore and a 2nd round pick from NJ. Could get some decent prospects from Arizona who look finally ready to spend a bit to be competetive.

Letang would not get back the value needed to consider trading him. His injury history and contract are just two big obstacles. He won't return another top pairing defenseman and would need to go to a team that needs that offensive/powerplay boost. Maybe get Klefbom from Edmonton in a package, Maybe duchene or Landeskog from Colorado as they need a true #1 dman and may roll the dice on Letang in a deal. If the Pens believe Schultz is the real deal then maybe they try to move letang when he is healthy but that is a big big maybe and letang would have to be willing to go

Hornqvist is going to be worth much more to the Pens than any other team and I don't really see the Pens trying to move him as he provides somehting deifferent than any other forward in the organization. Probably a decent propsect and a mid round pick but really wouldn't be worth it.

I love Letang and Horny, but damn, those offers are ridiculously difficult to resist. Would probably pass on Maatta, but dunno really
