Plus, he just signed that extension, and CBJ are suckers for the “Ohio kid comes home” narrative.

Do you realize how big of a downgrade Olofsson to Tanev is? And they're both equally injury prone...
Asplund is one of 4 forwards(6 skaters) that are currently a statistical net-positive on our roster... Just because his finishing has gone cold doesn't mean we throw him away for a 4th liner...
Since Bryson moved to the right side, he and Dahlin have been excellent... Why change that?
Girgensons is our best defensive forward. Truly an ideal 4th liner...

We have so many holes and negatives why do we wanna give up our positives? I'm all for trading Olofsson, don't get me wrong, but not for that kind of return.

Bryson is not a top pair defender. Two decent games with Dahlin isnt changing that.

The Sabres top nine next year is kind of loaded with skill guys. They need energy, grit players for a fourth line. Oloffson and Asplund are very expendable. Time for a change with Girgensons

I agree regarding Bryson but I'm also not going to be eager to trade away what is currently a net-positive. Olofsson is expendable but not for a downgrade... Like I said, Asplund is one of 4 forwards that is net-positive for them right now. He and Girgensons should both be part of the team for their defensive play. It is irrefutable that Cozens and Krebs have had their best games with guys like Asplund and Okposo to cover their lapses defensively.

That 4th line will end up playing 8min a night & be of very little use
Everyone’s right with their comments above

I think you’re trying too hard to get bigger & tougher
Example:
U don’t trade a proven top6 goal scorer (Olofsson) for a freaking 4th liner!
If u really don’t like Olofsson, then at least get something decent for him
4th line tough guys can be had for MUCH cheaper

I’d be ok moving him if we could get good value back
But with the season he’s had, his value has to have taken a dip
So we might as well hang on to him
Sign him to a 2year bridge deal & play him on a top line to get his scoring back up
THEN look to move him at the deadline next season….
That way we’d get a better return for him
