1st tampa has $712 of cap space left. So this trade would not work even with the retention, and as good as cal Foote likely will become, he is younger and has played as well as Cernak and has the same amount of points aswell. So I think if a deal was to be made...it would be to move out cap and canucks would target Cernak instead

Motte and schenn alone at this point could easily fetch a 2nd to 3rd round each.

If we get Foote for Motte then we absolutely fleeced them.

There would be retention from Vancouver if there's any deal.
I have the feeling that the Lightning are comfortable waiving Katchouk if that means they can add a player who can contribute towards a cup run this season. That would open the necessary cap space.

Even less of a chance Cernak would be involved. I could see Foote(value is a 2nd+), amd Raddysh(value in the 2nd/3rd range) for Motte and Schenn(Motte with some retention), and Vancouver adds something like a 4th perhaps. Not sure Tampa is targeting Schenn, although they know him well of course.

Taylor Raddysh and Cal Foote for Luke Schenn, Tyler Motte(525k retained I think works), and a '22 3rd(WPG). Neither team particularly loves the deal I suppose, but it's close to balanced. Maybe it's a '23 3rd instead(VAN).
