Paquette was waived and cleared waivers today, Rangers dont have to send anything.

I think Kulak is worth a 3rd but the rest seem reasonable

The final trade I forgot to add was Koskinen + 2023 3rd round pick for Georgiev.

Koski has been playing better than Georgiev so oilers reject.

Georgiev's problem is that hes not made to be a backup, he needs constant play. Hes just not good at coming in cold for spot starts. If you look at his numbers from December when Shesty was out and he was getting consistent starts, thats closer to what you'd get.

Seems like good value on both sides of these trades….and NYR manage the upgrades they need- all without burning their most valuable assets on rentals…good job

I don’t see the need for Paquette- but that’s small potatoes…the Stastny move is great for NYR- guy has experience, can still play at a high level, and wins face offs…and one other thing: maybe the threat of him getting extended “forces” Strome to soften up his stance on his next contract towards a number where NYR really should keep him.

If Strome wants too much, Im totally comfortable resigning Stastny to a cheap 3m/3.5m deal for 1 year as a stop gap signing while we wait on the progression of Brett Berard and Ryder Korczak. The one thing that continues to piss me off is the misuse (or lack of use) of Morgan Barron.

The Jets would probably accept just a second, but if you want to throw in a right shot prospect, hell why not? Looking at his stats in Hartford he doesn't look to bad, and could develop into something decent.

Strome really is a tough re-sign…his effort and his #’s warrant a good payday…but with their salary structure they really need to come to a # which wouldn’t kill them if he eventually dropped to 3rd line…tough one there

As far as Barron- I feel your pain…one of the complaints about Gallant is he tends to “trust” the older guys -who no longer warrant that trust…but all in all I think he’s doing a good job…and the one thing we don’t have info on is how these players practice- their approach, preparation, their response to coaching, etc. Maybe that’s an issue Barron is dealing with? I really have no idea- but he does seem to be the type of player Gallant would really embrace- and give lots of opportunity to.

I would never understand playing Brodzinski over Barron.

Salary structure is a huge issue, because you have to consider LAF's extension. If he continues on this upswing and has a full on break out next year, were looking atleast at a 7x7 contract extension.
