likely wont be barron heading to philly. behrens or a fwd prospect is more likely. can't see avs trading both helleson and barron and now that philly extended risto they dont need rd as much.

I'm really torn on any team giving up that much for Giroux, especially if you know you won't be able to sign him for next year

I don't think I would bother trading Anderson if that's the return. Not arguing value, I would rather finish the season with an adult goalie, our other options are barely NHL goalies. A pair of 6ths that realistically never see the NHL aren't worth it.

I think they can get better elsewhere in return for Anderson.

For the Anderson trade, if Craig wants to Cup chase; I'd take a 5th or 4th for him. 2 6ths when we lose a 7th isn't really worth it. That being said, if he would really like to go to Colorado for a chance at a Ring; just drop the 7th and I'll live.

Sakic is a very smart GM.
He gave Buffalo a 6th for Jonas Johansson.
He would not insult Karmanos nor Anderson with such a paltry offer.
The Buffalo 7th and Colorado 6th have nearly the same value so remove them.
If he is traded it will be for more than a 6th round pick.
Anderson is 10-8 (91 pts over 82 games), the rest of the GK are 10-24-8 (55 pts over 82 games).
IMO there will be many GK willing to give up at least a 4th as he would be a cheap insurance policy in the playoffs.
