Covid and injuries have given him (and most of the young kids) this opportunity. He was slated for Hershey for another year of development otherwise. He is getting good experience but he still needs to mature and get strength.

I agree, I feel like it is time to send him down for a bit just to get the experience and put Sprong in for a bit to see if he is figured out. If Sprong could find his game from last year it would be really helpful in the playoffs

I have no problem with him sticking around, he's getting good chances just needs to finish. He's good at driving and creating some offensive chances, is getting some defensive responsibilities. I think tonight especially is a great time for him as he's slotted in his natural position instead of wing.

I hope he stays in the lineup, while he may not have been putting up as many points recently he's also suffered from a lack of meaningful icetime, and he creates some good chances. His problem so far has just been finishing on the chances he creates, something he could improve on this year, especially with someone like Ovi to teach him. I'm hoping that this stretch of games, with Eller trapped in Canada, can show Laviolette that McMichael and Sprong deserve full time spots on the roster. Managing to get rid of Eller might be the best case scenario for both of their developments.

52.15cf% 53.07ff% 55.67xgf% ... those are pretty solid numbers for a rookie / raw player. his ice team / usage is limited but when he is on the ice hes creating opportunities

need to play him so he can develop... him and Lappy will play a huge factor in the future of this team esp with them being on elc

This is so true. McM's finishing has been pretty unlucky this year, but the underlying stats are very promising. He just doesn't get a ton of ice time.

Sprong had weirdly (a word?) great chemistry with Kuzy last year. he also plays a responsible 200 ft game
Sheary and Oshie will be a solid / meh line that can create chances without being a liability
Mantha and Wilson will help McM by surrounding him with talent
4th line is just so damn good i love them
