Description

Sabres should, if they can, trade Bjork, Hagg, Pysyk, Hayden, Anderson and Miller for any asset possible even if its a 6th or a 7th, might get the next Levi or Olofsson. Janikowski is on waiver so if he clears doubt we trade him.

We can replace Hagg and Pysyk with Butcher and Fitzgerald and play them 11 minutes a night. We can replace Anderson with UPL or Subban and the other's are already scratched to favor our younger guys.

2M retention for a couple months isnt worth a 3rd

TOR got a 5th for 2.5M retained on Lehner at the deadline in 2020
SJS got a 5th for 1.25M retained on Janmark at the deadline in 2021
SJS got a 4th for 2.75M retained on Foligno at the deadline in 2021
DET got a 4th for 2.125M retained on Savard at the deadline in 2021

I don't see buffalo retaining here. My suspicions are apparently shared by the Sabres beat reporter who said he doesn't think the pegulas are gonna be interested in retaining. I'd be a little more optimistic and say- if something really nice is coming they should retain.
