Flames decline. No interest nor room on the blueline for Reilly

While the habs will probably hold on to Lekhy, they probably say yes to that offer.

Zboril is out for the season. Vaakanainen is more valuable to us right now than another middle six winger. And the 2022 first. I like Lehkonen a lot, but we'd be better off to keep our assets and build on them. Also, Flames don't really need d-men.

omg that is awful. massive overpay for a depth forward. for that package you could almost get hertl... yes im serious. we dont need an offensive dman, we need a 2 way dman like a lindholm. ide say chiarot but he just sucks. adding dube for mike reilly is the depth forward move to make if you think we need one which i think our depth is fine. its really just swapping debrusk for a legit 1/2 rw vs lw and maybe upgrading haula.

Flames so no, but the other two are insane overpays. Bad enough that Sweeney would probably be fired a day or two after deadline day.

It shouldn’t almost get you hertl, it should get you hertl.

Remember the stanley cup final how STL won because they were dominant physically. Chariot helps for that. In the playoff, he can deploy more of his ''tools'' that are normally penalized in the regular season.

During the leafs-habs serie, the Matthews, Marner and Nylander were a lot more hesitant to go in the corners when they knew they were going to get punished. Same thing for the Jets and the Knights.

While if you look at Tampa Bay, most of the goals were off the rush, turnovers or PP - the other goals (cycling-type goals) were mostly scored by the third and fourth line.

Chariot in the regular season was meh... but come playoff time, he blocks shots, punishes opponents and eats 28minutes a night.

During the Stanley cup final when the blues were headshotting our effective players that were vital to our success? yeah i remember that. grz missed basically the whole cup finals and johansson wasnt the same after barby went up and in. You cant convince me forbort and chiarot arent the same player.

matthews marner and nylander are weak. they dont like the physicality. once you start roughing them up they disappear see every playoff series theyve been in.

also that doesnt make chiarot good. you know who also blocked shots and punished opponents? adam mcquaid and kevan miller....

Woof the value on that Lehkonen trade is brutal. I wouldn't trade either of those pieces separately for him, nevertheless together.

Muzzled Pacioretty, Stone, Marchessault ect... Muzzled Connor, Ehler...

- Most star player don't like getting hurt... actually most player do not like to get their ribs cross-check by a 230lbs dude.

Meh, I believe that being paired with Petry, Kulak or Savard was rough

It's going fine with Romanov.

Again - regular season, he can't use the tools that make him super effective. You get a minor penalty for the weakest of cross-check ( ex: last habs game against the yotes! )

savard has def lost a step... but petry and kulak are fine nhl dmen. if hes not being effective there that means hes not carrying anything and being carried himself. if you call his tools being able to get away with penalties im all set with that type of dman.

Savard got fat celebrating his cup win.

Petry has been terrible this year - like he is unrecognizable... He has been a turnover machine and making terrible decision with the puck. He played max 10 game with Kulak. At the end of the day he has been one of our best Dman even when everybody else was playing terrible.

The problem this year is that he was our #1 D... he's supposed to be #3 or #4.

right but just because hes your number 1 d doesnt make him a number 1 d. most #4s dont get a 1st in trade compensations. i think hes worse than brenden dillon but even he only got a 2nd and a 3rd and 2 seconds in his trades
