    BUF
    1. Armia, Joel
    2. 2023 5th round pick (CGY)
    Additional Details:
Buffalo has an inordinate amount of cap space next season and they need someone to play for them. Armia was drafted by Buffalo in the 2011 Draft, 16th overall. I can however see Buffalo asking for more than a 5th to take on that contract. I know there’s been some interest in him but I don’t foresee a team giving up assets for him without Montreal retaining for the 3 remaining years of his contract.

3 years of an Armia cap dump would be much more expensive than that.

Perrault has been put on waivers today. Winnipeg can get him for nothing and that's too much

I think they could a better package (but likely less than what I put) if they retained half of Chiarot's salary.

On the low side, I see Chiarot going for a 2022 2nd round pick, a 2024 3rd round pick and maybe a player like Dube?

We have no clue what goes on in the minds of these GMs, whether they're dumb, desperate or know what they're doing (regardless of what team you cheer for).

Jets don't have the cap space even if they wanted to.

I consider Armia and Girgensons about even as 4th line players and I think Girgensons is a little overpaid at 2.2mil - so I think Armia needs at least a 1.2mil retain if a 5th is the prize

The Sabres have 40 million or something like that in cap space, and Armia has 3 years left. There are players the Habs will need to move at next year's deadline that will need retaining (e.g. Drouin, Byron, etc.), and you only can retain on three. I could see them offering a 3rd and Armia.

Would Montreal please just trade Chairot so these ridiculous pie in the sky fantasies from every Habs fan can end!

    A first + a 2nd + potentially another 2nd for a rental 4-5 D-man - after Manson brings a 2nd - LOL

yep close to 40mil but don't think people don't have plans to spend that money - for example floated was spending 30mil on Fleury, Letang, Malkin where they each get around 10mil and 2year term contracts, kind of a mentorship last ride sort of thing - I don't know what the Sabres are going to do but there is a feeling there is going to be something beyond Power, Quinn and Peterka to entice the fans back.
