Of course Pittsburgh says no to that, and no, nothing can be worked around it.

Neither team wants to give up their players. Both play key roles on their respective teams.

You need too keep space to signe Caufield in 2023. He will likely sign a 8 years deal around 6-7 millions.

Pens hang up. Maybe Caulfield for Marino.

Lehkonen got 13 points last year in the regular szn, and 4 points on a stanley cup run. Can MTL fans relax on his trade value, pls!

Simply put, nothing that makes sense Montreal. I don't think the Pens have a strong enough right side to get rid of Marino at all. I've been apprehensive of giving him up for Boeser in the infinite number of Vancouver trades for him. So getting Marino for Lehkonen isn't very likely.

Add so much value so that they could just take what you gave them and get JT miller. So, like, a first, top prospect +.

    It’s just not a fit.

No for Pittsburgh. They are in contention so if Marino is moving the major piece returning needs to be an immediate impact player with term. Lehkonen isn't that guy and adding picks/prospects wouldn't make it any better.

Marino is being talked about for guys like Boeser/garland, even miller. There isn’t much in Montreal the pens could use in the short term to help them win a cup for Marino. Like someone else said ^ the pens would ask for Caufield which Montreal wouldn’t bite on either

savard is easily expendable with Guhle/Norlinder/Harris/Struble/Mailloux/Fairbrother
Hoffman is easily expendable with Ylonen/tuch/mysak/farrel

    doable

Like everyone here is already saying, Marino could get way way more than a guy like lekhonen. I don’t think there’s much the habs could offer to get something like this done

I agree that Savard, Hoffman, Dvorak are expendable! Bit that doesn’t mean a team will take on those contract. Simce the cap haven’t gone up and don’t seem to be increasing soon team are extremely aware of the money they spent. And with all the move that Hugues have made already it’s clear that they will gave young players a chance over ufa who don’t really upgrade the team. Next year they will still suck and fight for the lottery pick. Every team in the eastern conference have gotten better and the Habs goes in the other direction. Buffalo, Ottawa , Detroit , Columbus, New Jersey are all team that have already been thru rebuilt process and now their young players are ready to contribute. Petry will probably be traded at the draft so defensively it’s will be though some night next year.
