dude Polak contract is trash and he is probably not coming back because he is injured. also, the leafs are going to want Boyle back for the fourth line

I dunno about paying Polak 3 mil a season when you're going to need every penny to resign Matthews/Marner/Nylander in 2 years. Plus the bottom 3 D are way too slow IMO for the new NHL. Need a mix of size and speed. Dominic Moore would be a good fit for the 4th line but how much longer are you going to keep Freddy Gauthier in the minors?

Carrick is going to be protected. Polak would be a one year signing if at all due to his injury. Really think the Leafs can do better than Moore, Franson and Alzner as UFA signings.

Carrick though decent is not the answer he's getting less ice time than every other leaf dman including Marincin right now so obviously Babcock has little to no trust in him. If he is not on the expansion list he probably gets traded this off-season.

Can see Polak coming back, but for 3 years! As much as Bobcock has used this guy in shut down situations (and guys he's been pretty damn good), it's another 1 year deal. 2 years if her takes less money than this year.

Alzner sees more than $3.75 million. Gonna be closer to $5 million, which long term makes him too expensive an option for the Leafs (note: like the signing, just the money is unrealistic).

Boyle will be back. Be shocked and horrified if he wasn't. That fourth line with him was fantastic.
