Detroit passes. Bertuzzi is worth more than a bottom 6 forward and a AHL defenseman and a mid to late 1st.

Sorry but that's a very underwhelming package for Tyler Bertuzzi, Wings can get a far better return especially if an extension is agreed upon.

are you out of your mind lol - Bertuzzi has one good year and you're giving all that up. This is just as bad as the Toews trade

Has this trade been modified after your comments? Because what I’m looking at is an insane overpay from NYI

I'd hardly call it an insane overpay, Beauvillier is a bottom 6er that Detroit has plenty within it's system. And Robin Salo is basically a career AHLer and and a late 1st and 2nd round pick. And one would assume that Bertuzzi come with an extension only increasing his trade value.

I can understand not wanting Bertuzzi but to say he has had only one good year is just not true.

2018-19 21g 26a 47p
2019-20 21g 27a 48p
2020-21 5g 2a 7p only played 9 games due to injury
2021-22 25 g 27a 52p

I'm not sure why you think he has had 1 good season but most consider a 20 goal season pretty good.

I can understand not wanting Bertuzzi for a number of reasons but saying this an overpay for him is just absurd.

Bertuzzi is putting up a point a game and is on pace for 35 goals this season. Bertuzzi currently has 52 points that's more than any Islander.

I'm not sure how a bottom 6 Forward and a defenseman that has yet to prove he belongs in the NHL.

congrats on being wrong about everything. If beauvillier is a bottom 6er, than so Is Bertuzzi. This is over the last 3 seasons where Beauvillier has been more impactful offensively,

And Robin Salo will likely be on the isles 2nd pair next season, I don't where tf you came up with the fact that he's a career AHLer. Literally no NHL scout or anyone in the isles orginization believes that.

yeah go ahead a keep calling Beauvillier a bottom 6 forward when the last 3 years proves otherwise. Check my comment above.

I should have said great, he was simply a slightly above average forward from 2019-21. He's having a "breakout year" in his late 20's which is not sustainable.

Salo literally came over from the SHL this season - feels weird to call him a career AHL guy when he's 23 and already had a lot of success in Liiga and the SHL.

Calling Beauvillier a bottom-6er is also silly. He's a half-point per game guy this season, and that's with a shooting percentage that's nearly cut in half from his career numbers - it was 12.9% to start the season; it's 7.0% this season. He's still putting up positive possession numbers (Isles go from 45-46% of the chances to 51-52% with him on the ice) and is a proven playoff performer (15 goals in 49 games in his career). Are Islanders fans frustrated with his lack of performance this year? Sure, but you could literally say that about anyone on the team not named Mat, Noah, or Ilya at this point, so writing him off as a bottom-6 guy is terribly shortsighted.

I will, however, thank you for your optimism in saying that the Isles 2023 picks will be later in the round. Fingers crossed!

I mean cmon man. Dude broke 20 goals once 4 seasons ago and has never broken 40 points. That's a bottom 6 player on a good team all day long. He has nice possession numbers, cool so he's a good 3rd liner. You need those guys. Problem is, they are way more common than a Bertuzzi

Goals per 60 min
17-18 season
Beauvillier: 1.22
Bertuzzi: .61

18-19 season:
Beauvillier: .91
Bertuzzi: 1.05

19-20 season
Beauvillier: .92
Bertuzzi : .92

With your logic, if Beauvillier is a 3rd liner, then so is Bertuzzi. I love how you only looked at possession numbers , they mean sh*t, the most important thing Is Beauvillier increases the rate his team scores goals more than Bertuzzi

Beauvillier is a lot better than a 3rd liner.

When Beauvillier averages a point a game or hits 25 goals in a season let me know.

This is the first time in the last 4 seasons Bertuzzi is having a better season than Beauvillier.

My point is backed up by facts - you are using confirmation bias to try to push a narrative. The numbers don't lie.
