Description

Here are the steps: (full reasoning below)

-Weber's contract is on LTIR
-Put Mcnabb on LTIR till EOS (this is rules allowed since he is on IR currently)
-Activate Martinez from LTIR
-Send Leschyshyn in the minors till EOS (does not go through waivers)
-Activate Stone from LTIR
-Bischoff stays on LTIR till EOS or Pachal is sent to the minors for Bischoff to play
-This amounts to just $5k under the cap if Pachal is not sent down

This proposal makes it possible for Stone and Martinez to finish the season with the team
Martinez absolutely needs to play to be ready for the playoffs
This proposal also leaves Dadonov on the roster for the season/playoffs
He probably has MTL on his M-NTC anyways

If management absolutely want Stone and Martinez for the end of season push,
Weber's contract is the only available contract that can get it done (that I can find)

This gives MTL leverage. But this also gives VGK the best team to end this season and start the playoffs
VGK can trade Weber's contract this summer

The cap floor team that will later acquire Weber's contract will be saving $25.4 millions for the remainder of Weber's contract (cap hit - actual salary)

MTL wants prospects/picks for a rebuild. They will not accept any trade in which they take on a cap hit
Zach Dean is a high price, but this also leaves VGK with a very strong team to end the season and for the playoffs (keeping Dadonov)

Nobody is helping out Vegas, and I’m pretty sure you can’t trade for Weber and create cap space post TDL, and even if you were you think Hughes who has been an assassin is going to bail VGK out for peanuts? I want to watch this train wreck play out.

LTIR doesn't work the way you think it does. With this lineup you're $18M over the salary cap and only have $10M of LTIR space.
