No they don’t. Pettersson alone is worth a 2nd. Adding Kapanen makes it a 1st and Lias. Now to retain that much for that long is at least another 1st round pick. They could find better ways to waste cap space then taking on like 4 years of dead cap on Pettersson.

This is an odd Kings offseason: as you forgot to sign Mikey Anderson (Kings 1LD), decided to trade Roy (arguably the Kings 2nd best defenseman) over Walker (and think Roy is worth a 4th liner and 5th round pick), think Kempe (who is on track for 30 goals) will sign so low, have the Kings acquire Petterson who plays about 15 min ATOI, acquire Kapanen and make Kupari a healthy scratch (when Kupari is cheaper and has done more offensively at a younger age), and sell Clarke who we've been told is an unmovable asset (as is Byfield).

Can't say I agree with a lot of this.

Pens arnt retaining 2M for 3 more years..lol. That’s crazy.

Maybe 500K-750K at most and get Pettersson for 3.25M-3.5M per. He’s only 25 years old.

Pettersson is only making 4M per. That 25k is nothing. He’s making $4.025.175M. That $25,175(twenty-five thousand one hundred seventy five dollars) over 1M. That’s nothing. And for what D-man are making now. Holding 500K and Pettersson at 3.5M per for 3 years will look better and better everyday.
