Bit of an overpay for Soucy and the Oilers should probably hang onto that Niemeläinen kid.

Just my two cents: teams that might be interested in taking Kassian off your hands are those who are undersubscribed in forwards for next season like Arizona and Nashville, rather than Columbus, who have 12 forwards (including RFAs that they almost certainly want to re-sign) on their roster plus Patrik Laine (whom they might not) plus a couple of kids they might want to promote. But that's a sensible investment for cap relief.

Bunch of things wrong with this.

Keith has a full NMC and isn't waiving for Arizona.
Barrie has WAY more value than that.
Campbell hasn't proved he can handle a starter's workload.
What did Kulak do to get a big raise? He's having a worse season than when he signed his current contract.

i've been very impressed with Kulak so far here in Edmonton, but I agree that's an overpay

Dawg no way any one is gonna give Campbell a 5x$5 I'm sorry.
We could also get more from Kassian and Barrie, much more for the former. I agree they need to go, but let's not pretend that everybody thinks they are useless.
Also we need to keep Neimelainen. He's everything we need in a d-man, especially when playoff time comes. Kane will also like something closer to $4M, but considering the stuff around him $3M isn't outrageous.

Agreed from CBJ. I could see them maybe taking him on in exchange for a better pick package than this - they could use some guys with size. That being said, he will almost without question be put on waivers here.
