We can't bridge Wennberg on a 4-year deal. I believe that either takes him to UFA or 1-year arbitration status. A bridge needs to be 2-3 years for him

Youd be lucky to get one of them for that with no salary retention, not both. Avs arent eating 12 million in salary the next 4 years and giving you two of their best players just to aquire an injury prone 3-5 defenseman and some meh futures.

It wouldn't be a traditional bridge deal. This would take him to free agency. It is risky but with some of the young players in the organization on their way we might be alright but we will have more money to sign him long term.

Murray is a top 4 defenseman with real top 2 talent. Nutivarra is a young defenseman with offensive upside. Both are NHL ready. Plus, a prospect and 1st round pick are more than compensated the players in the trade.

Wouldnt call him that, he is the fifth best defenceman on CBJ, 23 years old already his development has plateaued and he is injury prone.

Absolutely insane offer for the Avs. They give up two players in their prime who are on good fair contracts (but for some reason retain salary anyway?) so that they can get a middling, honestly bottom pairing dman in Murray and then role the die on a couple of "meh" prospects? I don't think so. You're off by a mile here.

That trade is probably closer to just getting Duchene. Now double what CBJ are offering to add in Landy with retained salary also. A little lop-sided.

This is 100% true, but Murray is also only 23 and still has a high ceiling, so he'd be worth it to a team in desperate need of quality defense.

I think from CBJ perspective, giving up Murray is fine to get Duchene, but any trade between the teams will probably hinge on whether or not Hartnell's contract is included.

This is so homerish. Terrible deal with the retaining salary. You would have to add way more than that to get the Avs to retain 4m in salary for multiple seasons
