Nah. This year that’s it. We have 2 holes. One will be filled thru the draft this year and the other with a trade. Greig, JBD and Thomson are also here

You could get better than fiala no? With that high value of a first. I know this sound unrealistic but Keller would be awesome

Not bad, not bad. Mathieu Joseph is not top-6 material IMO though

Greig - Norris - Batherson
Tkachuk - Stutzle - Fiala
Formenton - Pinto - Brown
Crookshank - White - Joseph
Watson

My top 3 lines play about the same at ES. Top-6 forwards play on the PP, 3rd line and Jospeh play on the PK.

Callups from Belleville : Sokolov, Jarventie and Lodin for skill. Kelly and Kastelic for muscle

It depends on how much Dorion is allowed to hurt the team and the progress young players make.

Sens would be much better if he did nothign after the 2020 draft (Duclair and Balcers would still be there, for example)

Arizona owes us one after the Stepan debacle. No way this costs more than it did to take on that mess.

This is not true. By the time next season starts, Chabot will be 25, Batherson 24, Tkachuk 23, Norris 23. These players will all be in their primes. There’s no reason the Sens should be tanking again next year.

I am however very against the idea of trading the 2023 pick. It wouldn’t be all that surprising if they suck again next year and the 2023 draft is supposedly the deepest since 2015. Would be a very risky play and based on Dorion’s track record, it likely blows up in his face.

Fiala is a better player than Keller. Especially when it comes to both skating and general play driving. Furthermore, Fiala has been a top 5 possession player in the entire league for the last 3 years. Keller has not.

Fiala fills what type of young veteran player the Sens need a lot more than Keller does.

I'm not sure what makes you think Keller is better than Fiala? Because he's not.

Idk why Fiala gets so much hate. The guy is a great skater, great possession player and can snipe it. He’s the dream

Brännström does nothing for us. I don't think he should or would be in a package for Fiala. We're stocked at LD prospects with Lambos, O'Rourke, Hunt, and Peart. All of whom who will be as good as or better than Brännström. Then add onto the addition of Middleton, what is exactly what we needed right now.

There isn't room for Brännström. He be a wasted acquisition on our end.

Because he plays for this team...

Minnesota Wild

And that team is flyover country by national standards.

Minny is a hockey state too . I think Winnipeg and Minny are very similar in terms of lack of coverage but being hockey towns

He did last season and had 16 pts in 19 games while receiving a lot of praise from Troy Mann. He continued like this in the rookie camp and training camp and a spot on the big team was a formality at this point, but he got injured

There would be no discussion about this if he didn't get injured. He would have played over so many players who played for Ottawa this season. It's possible that he has some kind of setback because of the injury as it happens to many players but I'm assuming he won't to stay positive for him

ok but Fiala has a very high oZS% though. Advanced stats are very contextual

Keller had very high oZS% the last 2 seasons so his possession numbers looked really good too. This year much less as his coaching staff seem to trust him more defensively.

And? Fiala is utilized on the pk too, his defensive metrics are up as well, over previous years. That situation isn't singular to just Keller. He's been a much more complete two-way player this year, so I'm not sure what your trying to imply.

Offensive zone starts and defensive zone starts don't particularly matter in this case because Fiala's possession metrics outshine Keller's, period.

Here's the direct player comparison.

8 words and it's already discouraging...

Kevin Fiala has played 62:07 of SH TOI in his whole NHL career... and not even 1 sec with Nashville... so in 198 games with the Wild.

Most of it is this season yes but still only 0:40 SH TOI/GP...

I'm not implying anything, I was adding some missing context. I don't care about who is better Fiala vs Keller whatsoever

Sorry but this doesn't make any sense

The more oZS% you get, the higher your CF% and CF% rel will be

Before this season where Keller's usage changed, he had very similar possession metrics to Fiala. Advanced stats are useless and even STUPID without context.

I have seen that movie so many times...
