Detroit passes! A 3rd is what Pettersson is worth and what it would cost for Schmidt who would fit Detroit's needs just fine.

Pettersson/Seider would be a solid pairing. People sleep on Pettersson but he's solid on both ends of the ice. Seider's physicality would help Pettersson's game quite a bit.

Yeah but with prospects Detroit has coming up a 2nd is just too much. Besides Seider's future partner Edvinsson will be on the team next season. Detroit added Walman at the TDL a player that had been on Yzerman's radar since college and they picked up Juolevi off waivers. So it's not like they have to add another Dman.

Pettersson would be paired with Hronek in Detroit. Hronek needs a stabilizing partner infinitely more than Seider does.

In addition to the two newcomers we just picked up there's also a very high chance of Jacob Moverare becoming available on waivers. He's a very solid defender with very good leadership qualities. He's been the captain on both the U18 and U20 national teams. He could very well be better than Juolevi and Walman.
