Wtf kinda trade is that?! Retain half for just a 5th? He’s worth a 2nd with his play this year without retention.

Dahlen and Kahkonen are overpaid by quite a bit and Ferraro underpaid by quite a bit too.

Dude is old. No way anyone is paying more than a 4th for an old goalie on an expiring contract who will most likely play a backup role.

He’s been one of the best value goaltenders this season. He’s not being moved at half retention for a measly 5th period. He’s got the 15th ranked save percentage of goalies playing in 25 games or more this season. 15th out of 43 goaltenders. That’s better than guys like Fleury, Talbot, Hellebuyk, samsonov, Hart, Gibson, and others and the sharks are a terrible defensive team.

Here comes a lengthy hold out with Ferraro if that’s your final offer

Kahkonnen get's no more than 2.25 mil cap hit. Ferraro is likely going to get no less than 4 mil. Dahlen is a question mark for sure. I think Reimer can be moved without retaining salary and still get at least a 5th. I'd also move Simek. If the Sharks are just doing everything to shed cap space, trade Labanc and Hill as well. Call up a cheaper back up goalie.

The big problem is that the things that they SHOULD do won’t happen as long as Doug Wilson is the GM. He still believes that the Sharks are a contender and refuses to realize that the window has closed. Had he realized that, Hertl would have been traded like he should’ve been.
