Gotta think that the ask in a Provorov trade would be very similar to the Chychrun ask, but it's also Fletcher, so who knows.

That being said, I can't see a late 1st, cap dump and Perunovich being it.

Very true. Question is does he want to move again at 35 with a family and kids to a different state/country for a fourth time just for a little more aav on a short term contract? the city of stl has a weird way of keeping older/retired players around. 2mil is probably too shallow tho, i could see him staying put for 3ish

If anything Provorov is more similar to Lindholm in asking price. Scandella + Kostin + 1st and 2nd

As a Ducks fan who definitely loved having Hampus, I'd take Provorov over him every day of the week.

Just re: that offer-Hampus also netted another 2nd in the deal (I've got Kostin and Vaak around the same level), and they only had to eat one year of Moore vs. two of Scandella

I think Scandella provides way more value to a team than Moore does. At this point Moore is dead cap, he isn’t even playing and his cap hit is 1.625M. Scandella at least can be a roster spot on the left side for a team like Philly who would use Sanheim, York and Scandella. He’s also a PK specialist and a big reason why STL is top 5 in the league. Say what you want about his game but he is nowhere near a Moore comparable. Also Lindholm already had a deal in place for when he made it to Boston. That 2nd almost paid for the fact they were acquiring and resigning a top LD for an additional 8 years. Provorov acquisition is a 3 year guarantee that’s it. He is at 6.75M AAV too and after a down year I think those reasons show the additional second isn’t needed in this scenario.

I'd be pissed if Devils traded Blackwood for Binnington.
No reason to take on that horrendous contract, and at 5m it's still quite bad.
Blackwood has a decent chance of becoming the better goaltender as soon as next season anyway.

I don’t think it’s smart for STL to trade Binnington cause it shows lack of trust in signing long term deals. At the same time, I don’t think Binnington is as bad as people portray. I think his numbers are down because the defense truly looks like they trust Binnington like they did during the 2019 cup run where he will bail them out in any situation. But the difference between now and then, is the fact that Binnington’s confidence is down and that’s why he isn’t making those saves. It’s really up to the defense to help him regain that confidence again. When you really look at the Blues season they’ve gone through quite a few goalies at times and whenever it’s not Binnington, the defense is lights out. When Binnington is in net, they are a little more ballsy and in turn give up the turnovers that lead to prime opportunities. If they could just play consistently for when Binnington is in net I think he can regain his form again which would be important going into this playoff run.

Not to mention Bratts not going in a trade
Also Husso signing in Jersey as a FA!
