I think it's wise to have some guys rotating. Last thing you want is a guy sitting for weeks and then because of injury is thrown into playoffs.

Yes, I think this will be Holl's last chance to prove he can keep a spot or Muzzin for that matter. For me a healthy top six would be:

Rielly Brodie
Giordano Liljegren
Sandin Lyubushkin

Doesn't hurt to give the kid the night off.

Holl had a pretty brutal game against FLA, I bet he sits on Saturday.

Though Muzzin had a good game for first game back against Florida, IMO Muzzin has been horrid this season. When the Leafs eight Dman are at the their darn good. It's figuring out who isn't going to be their best tonight. Brodie and Reilly have bee poor defensively IMO lately.

I'm very interested in watching the Muzzin Brodie pairing. I've been wanting to see this for a while. I would prefer the six to be:
Rielly Luby
Muzzin Brodie
Gio Lily

Rielly and Lyubushkin have been pretty good together so if Sandin is back before the playoffs I'd like to see Keefe be bold and pair him with Brodie for a game or two

I’d even be interested in seeing more of:

Rielly-Liljegren pair in just under 115 minutes together at 5v5 controlled:

•61% of the shot attempts
•68% of the expected goals
•64% of the scoring chances
•59% of the high danger chances
•TOR outscored opponents 13-6 w/ the duo on the ice

Go:
Rielly Liljegren
Muzzin Brodie
Sandin Lyubushkin

Geez, I can't imagine how leaf fans are going to react if Matthews was to not score in 5 straight games. All it takes is a small bad stretch and off to the scrap heap. Muzzin is going to be fine. I think his days with Holl are over but he's going to do well with Brodie I bet. And Gio will do well with Holl. Holl may lose his spot to Liljegren but only if Liljegren continues to play really well. I am not sure I want Liljegren on the PK over Holl.

I like them together too, but also if Muzzin can't even figure things out with Brodie, I think that's Gio's spot still. I have a bad feeling Muzz and Holl could cost them some games in the playoffs, they'd have to be out the door soon as trading can start again

I just think Holl is better in his own zone than Liljegren but if the kid wins the spot that's all great.

It's not been a full year since literally every Leaf fan said "the leafs collapsed when Muzzin got hurt" and now everyone acts like he's never been good. Geez

well Holl already can't box out the front of the net anyways and he's invisible offensively, Liljegren is still developing but he's more capable of those things than Holl has shown to be earlier this season and now.

Holl could absolutely cost them a round. His inability to not have any net front presence and clear guys from the front is a glaring issue. I am hopeful Muzzin can return to his old form.

not saying he was never good but now after back to back concussions, the guys cooked, especially at his cap hit. I really do feel bad for the guy, but if he doesn't bring value to the leafs in any capacity, somethings gotta change

Way too many fans on here look only for faults. Open guys scoring on a PP isn't a failure to box out. But like I said, some people only see what they want. Holl could have the greatest game of his career and get blamed for goals against regardless

if Muzzin can even get slightly back to his old self, great, I'll be happy for the guy truly. so far tho, he's looking cooked. and with that high of a cap hit, it can really screw the Leafs. hopefully at least Holl is out the door this summer, probably for some draft picks this year so the Leafs aren't completely out of it lol

This is a recency bias response. Saying he can't clear the net specifically after a few PP goals against is causing the "Holl sucks" crowd to say "see he is the worst!". Each one of those goals came of a lost board battle where Florida found an open guy lost in the rotation. You want to place blame on goals like that, blame the guys losing puck battles along the boards. Or you know, blame the extremely good PP the leafs were facing. Blaming Holl for all that is wrong is just silly.

I am fine with Liljegren steals the spot but Holl has been really good for a while now. This last game was just one of those games. As for not being able to clear the net, Justin Bourne did an article on this prior to the deadline and Brodie has been scored on a lot because he isn't good at clearing the net but he's still a golden boy so when he gets scored on its Holl or Muzzin's fault.

Yup, these are all nice problems to have. Leafs have when healthy 8 very good Dmen. Finding the right combination will be up to Keefe.

Yeah I definitely am fine with what he decides to do. He's shown he doesn't play favorites which is good. Coaches who do that really drive me nuts.

not an Isles fan. Haven't posted on here in some time, must have me confused with someone else, not EVERYONE is cooked. I'm only pointing out the obvious with Muzzin.
