Apparently he's going to talk with Kyle Dubas on Saturday but reports are that he is leaning towards staying for another year

Oh? His one season of NCAA tells you this? You guys did this with Robertson, Bracco etc etc etc. ever gonna learn?

The second round pick that looked good in his first NCAA season isn’t a lock for being an NHLer as a teenager. This isn’t new.

The difference is Knies' size and NHL frame, Robertson and Bracco were 5'9", 170 pound small skilled forwards

Big difference between 5’8” 160 lbs lighting up juniors and 6’3” 200 lbs lighting up NCAA.

He should stay. I just want to see him and Cooley as high motor skill line.

Yep

PLB said Knies is leaning towards going back and I support it. And it makes sense as not many kids go directly from NCAA to NHL within there first year and do well.

Only guys to do it Kessel, Eichel, and Tkachuck (Brady)

And burning a year for 10 games and a potential playoff run nah. Just sign him in 2023.

Not sure if you noticed that Knies was a member of the USA Olympic team and has had a dominating first year in the NCAA...........and combined with his size and shot make him the real deal.

I get it if he wants to try developing more and running it back in Minnesota, but also looking at this already incredible Leafs offence, the chance to play on the top lines with Matthews and Marner, or Tavares and Kerfoot, his addition could make a huge impact in trying to get out of the first round and then run for the cup. its a very tough decision for someone so young, 100% respect whatever he decides when he decides it.

also can't help but think that if Sandin is healthy he becomes 7thD and rotates with Giordano on the 3rd pair, he's been rock solid this year and definitely deserves the spot in the lineup
