Edmonton isn't trading Puljujarvi, And that's not even in the ballpark for Kevin Fiala. Both Edmonton and Minnesota pass.

You're not getting Fiala without a 1st round pick going back, Unless you're throwing your top prospect in which you're clearly not since Luke Hughes isn't included.

Are you sure you don't want to ask Boston to bend over a little further and retain half of Reilly's salary as well.

yes he has had a pretty good year but he and a 2nd doesn't get you a very good NHL player in fiala.....

Absolutely a first is in play here even if its a high first. or a better prospect

Sure it does! Pick 36 + Gritsyuk is a good offer for a guy you likely can’t/won’t pay

So he's playing well in the KHL, Too bad the KHL doesn't always translate well to the NHL. Still need to add the 1st round pick on top for the like of Kevin Fiala.

I’d agree with you if paying fiala didn’t leave Minnesota with 1M in space and a roster of 18 lol

not even close. 1 round plus a good prospect is the minimum.

almost a point a game player with majority of his points coming at 5 on 5.

they have 8 million in cap space next year only need to sign at min 3 players one be a back up goalie. there is easily enough money for him

Signing fiala to 7M leaves them with 1M and a roster of 18. You can’t even fill out the roster with ELCs at that point lol

They’re not getting full value for him. Every beat reporter for Minnesota thinks they’re trading him. Why does everyone think he’ll get an open market return lol

cuz they are not forced to trade him they have other options so they are not selling low. plus the fact if they are trading him there will be a bidding war for him cuz of his 5 on 5 play.

also no hard to create a little cap room in moving a kulikov or a hartman or foligno... key part they are not forced by anymeans to trade him.

Okay, again. Every beat writer from Minnesota thinks that they WILL be trading him. The /team/ elected for arbitration last year and they now have to consider paying Boldy and Rossi with the buyouts smacking their cap.

Fiala will not be traded at market value. Ottawa very well
may beat this offer, but the devils 3rd best prospect and pick 36 is not a uncompetitive offer given the circumstances and surrounding reporting.

k....boldy doesnt need a contract till after next year and ROssi is still in year one of his ELC..... before needing a deal.

so my comment stands they are in no rush to have to make a deal and i gaurentee you out of the other 31 teams they will be an offer in the 1st round and better prospect. for a player like this. teams kill for 5v5 scoring which fiala does consistently at a high rate.

Hey, if a team wants to offer more value than this, good on them. A late r1 and early r2 are functionally extremely similar in value. But your line of thinking right there is /exactly/ what gets teams into deep cap trouble. Needing to pay Boldy big money in year 2 of Fiala’s deal will be difficult.

well considering they buyouts they did I dont think guerin cares much about the cap.... he has this playoffs and next year to go for it before rebuilding anyways. so my bet is he goes for it this year and next and you will see a sell off at the TDL(if not a contender) next year or draft next year when their real cap crunch comes in.

so i dont see any rush or need to sell low. there will be more than a fair market for him now at the draft or next year

Every teams will give a 1st round pick for him. Or Minnesota keep him and trade him @ deadline. Ypi can't offer nothing for fiala

This is literally the devils 3rd best prospect and the functional equivalent to a late first. Also how the hell can they trade him at the deadline if they can’t pay him lol

Also how many teams can even afford the 7M he’s getting? Lol

that cuz your scenario doesnt make sense at all and why eveyone has said hes worth a 1st... im not even a fan of Minnesota would love to see them lose a trade its just not going to happen.

My brother in christ I implore you to do some research into the both the value difference between a late first and pick 36 and the Wild’s cap situation and recent reporting.

how do you make that equivalent its arbitrary.... he was a 5th round pick having a great season.... that doesnt make him the value of a 1st...

also as for the 7 million I think may teams have shown they can get creative... no one thought VGK could get eichel and his 11M!! but that happened....

“Sure he’s producing at an NHL equivalent of 64 points this year but he was picked in the 5th soooooo”

/also/ I was talking about pick 36. This conversation is making me dumber by the message
