Description

I know I am going to get roasted for the Couture trade, and rightfully so. Just trying to think of out of the box ideas. Couture is still good and is from about an hour outside of Buffalo. Clearly a leader (captain in San Jose) and gives another strong option down the middle, but can play wing if they want to stick with Krebs at center. No idea what his value is.

Again, I do not think any of this is realistic but I hope the Bills win the Super Bowl.

Not sure about other people, but I take this. He might be good right now, but you're paying us to take on an 8mil 31yo for 5 years. I don't think it's horrible for Buffulo though. Couch has been a playoff warrior and would definitely be a strong add to the culture Buffalo is trying to build.

Definitely a move I think a new GM outside the org might do.

SJ brass would sell high on Couture. Though I think it's fair taking out Mittelstadt.

I love the idea of trading for Logan Couture, but not at that price. He grew up a Sabres fan, could be another leader for our top 6.

You really have me thinking about this trade. I cant determine who is winning or losing. Obviously worth it for the first two years he would be here but I wonder about the decline he would take after. San Jose is the most confusing team in the nhl. On a rebuild but have contracts such as burns karlsson vlassic couture and now hertl who are all going to be getting paid alot into their high 30s

Middlestadt is a bust. Who knows what the New GM will think of these legacy contracts but if they move Couture then Burns also would be moved and Vlasic bought out

I think Vlasic will be bought out regardless this offseason. He has proven each of the last 3 seasons how brutally subpar he is.
