Regarding free agency, is there a way we can do something like this?

Team who bids most total contract money wins, with stipulations on AAV minimums with term minimums so:

If AAV is less than 1 million, term must be two years or less.

If AAV is less than 2 million, term must be three years or less.

If AAV is less than 3 million, term must be four years or less.

If AAV is less than 4.5 million, term must be five years or less.

If the winning offer doesn't meet those terms, that offer is disqualified and next highest bidder with a compliant bid wins.

This eliminates the scenarios of GMs signing a big monetary contract to 8 years just to ditch and dive the cap, while also making sense since a player would most likely go to the team offering the most total money if we're ignoring all other factors and strictly looking at the variables of money and term.

Solves the issue of too long of a term, but not of too short of a term, which is an equal consideration.

Have you seen my latest post in the UFA discussion thread? I'm leaning heavily towards the market setting the players "terms" and then dealing with it from that point.

If all of the priority BOG business has been attended to, you guys might want to get involved in the UFA discussion and help me decide on a system so I can start implementing something.

I like the idea of it. Another restriction that should be added is the term of players on 35+ contracts. We can't have guys like Jagr going to 5/6 year contracts

Agree there. 35+ restricted to 2 year max. 40+ is a one year max

And rico, I don't really see an issue with too short of a contract. There is no cap circumnavigation when the offer has a ridiculously high AAV. It hampers the team in the game directly whereas the big concern with too long a contract was GMs wouldn't feel the affects of a 1.5 million AAV contract for 7 years. A 8 million 3 year contract would hurt a team much worse

In a bubble. We haven't discussed extensions, something necessary for a follow up season, for one.
Some teams have $20M in cap space and can bid $10M or more on a 1 year term just to get a player under contract and be able to offer a player a more reasonable extension at a later date.

Limiting term for less than salary thresholds doesn't cover everything, is my concern.

If the concerns are only mine, let me know. As long as people are seeing what I am seeing and choosing not to address something, I'm more comfortable with that than not considering these things out of ignorance. If you understand and don't feel it's a big enough issue, that's perfectly fine.
(As long as nobody comes to me later and says, "Oops. We messed up and this happened. What do we do?" Sticking Out Tongue)

My apologies. Just so the BOG is aware, I can reconstruct Philadelphia's roster, just let me know.

No need to apologize, don't want things to get further out of hand due to certain difficulties. Werenski Warrior will be the next GM, so perhaps you should get in touch with him/Matt about this. Perhaps you could re make the team for WW to use as an example? Apologies if that's asking again too much from you, I have no control over certain things/people as you have seen

Guys, Dirty Dangles has received a 30 day ban. The mods are getting tired of having to baby sit the GM game. Believe this is the 3rd GM given a 30 day ban. We have given enough warnings within the game.

We are considering deleting the GM because of the trolling and inability to follow the rules

Zach made a trade that dangles was not happy with.
Then dangles started trolling and what not then he got banned
