Regarding free agency, is there a way we can do something like this?
Team who bids most total contract money wins, with stipulations on AAV minimums with term minimums so:
If AAV is less than 1 million, term must be two years or less.
If AAV is less than 2 million, term must be three years or less.
If AAV is less than 3 million, term must be four years or less.
If AAV is less than 4.5 million, term must be five years or less.
If the winning offer doesn't meet those terms, that offer is disqualified and next highest bidder with a compliant bid wins.
This eliminates the scenarios of GMs signing a big monetary contract to 8 years just to ditch and dive the cap, while also making sense since a player would most likely go to the team offering the most total money if we're ignoring all other factors and strictly looking at the variables of money and term.
