Description
Before overreacting, I don’t think the red wings will be able to get both Kadri AND Forsberg. But I’m like 80% confident that they’ll get one of Kadri, Forsberg, or Trocheck.
As for the Valimaki trade, I think Yzerman would like someone who’s a bit more experienced/proven as his LD p/u, but I think the zadina for valimaki makes sense for both sides

Yzerman should, and probably will, stay as far away from Kadri as possible. He is going to get so insanely overpaid this summer.

No thanks on Kadri, And Forsberg gets closer to $9,500,000 x 7 years if he wanted $8,000,000 x 7 years he'd be resigned with Nashville already.

I'd MUCH rather take my chances on Zadina figuring it out than Valimaki and he sure as hell isn't a top pairing defenseman. We just need stopgaps at LHD anyways, as Edvinsson, Wallinder and Johansson are all REALLY close.

Hell, at this point Walman is considerably more proven than Valimaki...

Kadri does fill the hole at 2C but I agree with others. Yzerman should stay away. Go after Trocheck/Copp instead. Forsberg would be ideal but he won't come to Detroit unless we overpay significantly.

I hear all of ya!

1. I do agree that he’ll prob get overpaid, and Yzerman wouldn’t pay him too much. But he would be a good fit I feel as a 2C that can play against opposing team’s top lines

2. Forsberg I feel like it’s not money for him. Ain’t no way they haven’t offered him an 8x8. I don’t think he’s worth more than 9M at the most. 8-8.5M for 7 years and the chance to play under an organization with a ton of potential and have that great Swedish connection there. Again, might be a longshot but I think there’s a chance.

3. I do think Edvinsson makes the team next year and the other 2 are close. I think Valimaki is in a similar situation to Zadina where he has the potential but not the opportunities.

Walman has been pretty solid since Wings acquired him. Not sure why you'd scratch him and put a total project in Valimaki on the top pair instead

I like Walman, but he reminds me of Brendan Smith too much tbh. Rather have a project like Valimaki than another Smith
