Just an Idea

Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 28, 2022
Published: Apr. 28, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Smith keeps up his current play there is no way Holland puts any effort into changing up the Goalie tandem for next yr. Even if Smith struggles in the playoffs I say Holland sticks to his guns and goes with him and Skinner for next season.
Say what you will about the Yamo trade, I think Pujli & Kane are more important to get resigned. Kunin would be cheaper and he plays a more physical game.

I just can't see Barrie being a fit for NSH-- they already have Fabbro + Carrier in the top 4, and Hynes prefers size on his 3rd pairing. While it would be nice to get some more scoring from the backend, I don't think it's a fit. And his contract could make it tough to re-sign Fabbro, Carrier, and Jeannot the following season.

You'd think EDM could get a better return for him too (hard to say what Kunin's trade value is right now). But yeah, the fit isn't there for NSH. Makes about as much sense for them as the dozens of daily Petry to the Preds proposals.
