OK, onto the actual Lightning: they've got a bunch of problems right now. First off, their offense hasn't been bad, but Jack Campbell has been nothing short of BRILLIANT. That being said, Vasi hasn't been bad either, but the Lightning are giving up odd-man rushes and breakaways by the truckload, and Vasi can only do so much on those (also worth noting that the Lightning have barely gotten ANY odd-man rushes in this series, and if memory serves correct only one breakaway in Perry's goal).
Second-the D has been barely above abysmal. The aforementioned odd-man rushes, not getting the puck out of the zone, leaving Leafs wide open in front of the net-they need to tighten up and then some. No doubt Rutta was awful in Game 1, but I don't like Bogosian AND Foote being on the right hand side of the ice for more than half the game (though Foote has been good). I'd give Rutta another crack at it in Game 4.
Third-JUST. SHOOT. THE. PUCK. They had this mentality in Game 3, and it came
THIS CLOSE to getting them back from a 3-0 deficit. Get the puck to the net, good things will happen. But test Campbell early and often.
Here's to a come-from-behind series win and a third straight Cup.
