Mangiapane had a good year but Formenton will be super close to him soon. Not worth this trade

My problem is he is the only peice of any interest to us IMO. Branstrom will be 3rd pairing for us for quite a few years, those picks won't be of any use to us for a few years, and I'm not the biggest fan of White.

Yeah good point for sure . I don’t like the addition of White to this deal if I was Calgary

Monahan is on LTIR for at least half a season so his cap hit, next season isn't that bad for Flames. Taking on White is his 4 year cap hit is bad for the Flames or any team.
The Sens should have cap so no reason to trade Zaitsev.

All 3 of tkachuk, mangiapane, and gaudreau can’t stay on the flames without moving one of lucic, mangiapane or monahan.

Monahan has negative value, white at 4M saves money and is an immediate upgrade. 2nd hip surgery is not good.

Makes sense but monahan basically has negative value. White saves 2.75M and can play immediately. The flames can’t keep tkachuk and gaudreau without moving lucic or mangiapane. Picks don’t mean much now but you gotta restock eventually

Monahan doesn't have good value but mot negative. Monahan for Brannstrom probably isn't too far off. The rest doesnt come close to Mangiapane

If I was Ottawa I'd just keep Formenton. If the kid can get his hands and brain as fast as his feet, he is likely the best piece of this trade in a year or two.

White in this trade means a buyout at $875k for a few years. Not bad for Calgary to unload $6M in cap. Mangiapaine is proven and value for Calgary who are win now. Formenton and a depth D isn't likely to be even entertained unless they have to move him. But can do much better.
