Description
Trades seem more than fair. Vegas is retaining $1 mil in salary, but still clearing $2 mil off the cap overall. Colorado gets (1)Beau, who could explode the way Kadri did on that team, (2) Bellows cheap re-sign for 2-3 years, (3) Bolduc cheap like Bellows and playable on bottom 6 for now with potential to be a 2nd or 3rd pair guy for his career and 2 good draft picks. The Avs could end up being close to the cap so this would be beneficial if they let Kadri go.

Moving forward, Pac can re-sign at significantly less money to stay. That money keeps everyone else intact along with a likely (yearly) cap increase.

Oh and the Barzal on the wing move...worked for him his rookie season when put with Tavares and Lee. Instead of finding him wingers and spending money and picks to get that golden young piece, just make HIM that piece and put him with Lee and Nelson. It's a stretch to throw in Raty in that open spot at 3C, but it can be filled in a few ways if he is not ready. Cizikas can bump up to 3C because he does have more offensive ability than we give him credit for and Czarnik can be the 4C.

My only worry cap-wise would be for the 23-24 season having to re-sign Toews, Sorokin and Raty (not worried about him). Palmieri would have to go and we'd have to pray for a decent $4 mil - $5 mil cap increase to bring all 3 back.

Rework the COL deal as pieces like the COL 2nd, Bellows and Boldac arent of interest to COL as they dont help them win now (with one year remaining on MacKinnons deal).
This deal results in the loss of a top pairing D in return for a middle 6F in Beauvillier (the other pieces wont have any impact on COL 22-23 season or cup chances).

The price on Toews would be much, much higher

honestly think Girard would be the left shot D to target on the Avs - feel like the acquisition cost will be in the same ballpark as Toews, but he's younger and has the cost certainty of 5x$5M remaining on his deal - Toews is the better player, but not astronomically so, and would probably push for $8Mish after his current deal is up, which would be hell on the cap.

Avs fans, let me know if this is crazy talk or if Girard would be available in a Beauvillier-centered package?

I am a Girard fanboy. That said, you are undervaluing Toews by quite a lot.

I think this deal would probably get it done for Girard with some tweaks at the margin. For Toews, I don’t think this is close.
