No, trading Nylander isn't unrealistic. But going with 20 man roster and trading NTC Muzzin to a non playoff team is beyond silly.

News flash: Leafs have been toying with 20 man rosters for years. They know how to work the cap and call players up to make it work. It’s really not that big of a deal, especially with their farm team in the same city.

& players waive NTC’s and NMC’s all the time. Saying he won’t is pure nonsense because you don’t know what the player is thinking. I don’t think Muzzin is getting moved this summer anyways, but regardless players still waive all the time - those are mainly put in place so players aren’t blind sided with a trade.

Stop with the same old act you always have on here. It’s pure ignorance at this point.

Depends what CHI does over the summer, but a Nylander and a Muzzin could put CHI back into the playoff picture. There was a lot more effecting CHI's play this year than just the players. A fresh season and a couple players like them could do the trick. That being said, I think CHI has committed to the rebuild and isn't looking to move for this type of package. You could argue Nylander is young enough to still be beneficial to a rebuild and the 1st is certainly enticing. Also, I don't think Strome is taking anything less than his QO at $3.6mil. Then again if they end up winning the 2022 draft lottery in 10 minutes, I could see them trying as hard as possible not to let next years 1st round pick be a high one. In which case CHI might look to acquire a few players and push for a playoff spot.

KD seems very commited to the rebuild. While I agree that this team wasn't as bad as the record showed this year, it looks like the long rebuild route is what we're doing. I'm okay with that, it needs to be done and seems like KD is committed to doing it right

For sure. I agree. I'm good with it too. He could buy all the players he wants, but without a proper pipeline they are doomed. But I also wouldn't be against UFA acquisitions. As long as the players coming in know the deal and are good with being trade bait. Which being trade bait can suck, but can also mean they are going to a contender or a more long term situation while giving them a chance to build their case for their next contract or whatever they are trying to do with their career. Also, I hate CBJ and don't want them to get a high pick next year if we end up getting this years back. I hope they keep this years pick and get pushed back in the draft order. haha.

I don't think KD is going to rush this rebuild like we've tried in the past. Our centre quality is lacking and our depth isn't strong enough to mount any form of playoff hope.

Doesn't matter anymore though. CHI officially retains their 2023 1st round pick and their 2022 is CBJ's.

So we should tank this coming year and we could see some big moves now we know next years pick is ours

For sure! Did you watch the U18 at all? I mean... Next years draft has A LOT of great talent, but CHI should be doing everything possible to get Bedard. And KD should definitely be trying to get more 1st rounders for next year too.

Unfortunately my schedule hasn't allowed me time to watch though I do run through video through different sources and have to agree next year is looking good and yes we should be loading up on some picks.
