Detroit passes, Veleno is going to be very good in the next year or two.

Here's the formula for future success while tanking for Bedard/Michkov:

1. Hire David Montgomery or another successful college coach who will be able to develop players
2. Trade Strome, 1 of McCabe or Murphy, and Kubalik.
3. Give Stillman top line minutes so we can sell him at the deadline.
4. Leave Soderblom in the AHL to marinate one more year and let Lankinen figure it out or sink us trying.
5. Profit

I like Veleno more than Borgström and Veleno is also 2yrs younger. With the LHD prospects Detroit has Beaudin doesn't move the needle enough.

fair enough, this was an old ACGM I had sitting around so just wanted to get it out there. Thank you for the feedback I thought a change of scenery may have been mutually beneficial.

Yes some very valid points here. I think Strome stays unless we can get a 1st rounder or prospect of quality in return. I see Murphy moving more than McCabe due to the increased return he will likely get on the market and small 7 team list. I also think Fantili is a decent prospect next year if we miss out on Bedard Michkov

Genuinely, its not ONLY about the next draft for me. I think we need to be prepared for at least another high pick in 2024. Even if we pick at 4 or 5 and end up with Stramel or Yager in 2023, Im perfectly happy with it as long as we commit to the future and make good second round picks (which we have plenty of)

I think Beaudin is a very good prospect and it isn't a bad offer. It's just Detroit is kind of stacked with LHD prospects.
