MIN
  1. Järventie, Roby
  2. 2022 1st round pick (OTT)
  3. 2022 5th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
I think this trade makes some sense for both teams. Minnesota may be forced to trade Fiala and the 7th overall pick is a very solid piece and Fiala will be nasty alongside of Stutzle
2.
OTT
  1. 2023 4th round pick (DAL)
  2. 2024 7th round pick (ARI)
ARI
  1. Del Zotto, Michael
  2. Zaitsev, Nikita
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (TBL)
  4. 2024 4th round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Yes I get Arizona is not getting much however they might need help reaching the cap floor so I dont see them getting a massive return
3.
OTT
  1. Armia, Joel
  2. 2022 4th round pick (NYR)
MTL
  1. White, Colin
  2. 2023 4th round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
SInce MTL was interested in White, it makes sense and they don't take on too much meanwhile Ottawa moves on from his deal and gets a potential bounce back bottom 6 forward

I'm also convinced the Habs deal was White for Armia. Don't know about the picks, but underwhelming player for underwhelming player makes sense and term is the same.

And don't worry about the complaints. There's a bit too much of it on this site at times.

Biggest issue is that White buyout is $875k for 5 years. Next year it's $1.8M. Makes no sense for Mntrl - they can get him when he is bought out for cheap

At the deadline this made sense since we needed a center who could potentially bounce back an become a 2C. Once the season ended and we were guaranteed one of Wright, Cooley or Savoie this deal stopped making sense from the Habs side.

it still makes sense because wright probably won't play this year, and maybe even the next

Wright will play this year, it is almost a guarantee. He is NHL ready, Hughes wants to be competitive and there is no reason to send him down other than to get a better draft pick next year. I think that Wright and Roy make the team and become another Caufield-Suzuki type duo. I can also see Guhle making the team out of camp since he too is NHL ready and it does not benefit him to be in Laval any more than it does Wright or Roy.

Minnesota accepts this deal. But could someone tell me more about Järventie?
theAthletic has him pegged as a solid power forward that's had some bad puck luck. I'm not saying the Wild would turn down a 6'3" winger but we have plenty of those already. The article mentioned he has good but not great speed/acceleration. He sounds similar to what we have in Boldy. Maybe a Boldy-Rossi-Jarventie lineup works. Or he is a longer term replacement for Foligno (I'm talking 2-3 years down the line).

He's pretty much a boom or bust prospect in the same tier as Beckman. So his chances and ceiling are basically around the same as Beckman's.

Great lineup

Only thing here :

- Hope they just bury Del Zotto and Zaitsev in the AHL instead of paying assets to dump them. We have well enough cap space

- Would much much rather just buy out (cheap) Colin White rather than take a pure cap dump in Armia.

- Value for Fiala is fair, have to give to get. Need to have an extension in place (i.e. he wants to be part of the solution in Ottawa)

Big boom or bust prospect. He had a similar curve as Roopie Hintz last season. Doesn't mean he will end up as good but look what his coach said last year :

Troy Mann comments when he first got Jarventie in the AHL :

"He has a high hockey IQ, tremendous shot, NHL release. He's certainly got some height to him and once he's able to fill out and get some proper off-ice conditioning in the summer and get stronger, I think he needs to work on his skating as well, he'll be a real good prospect"

Ilves Head coach Jouko Myrra when he had him as a young 18 y/o :

“He has one of the best shots in our team or even in the Finnish league,” he said. “We would be stupid if he doesn’t play power play.”

Roby’s size, speed, and knack for putting himself in scoring positions reminds Myrra of former Ilves player Roope Hintz, who’s coming off 19 goals in 60 games for the Dallas Stars last season.

“I hope that Roby Jarventie can challenge him after a couple of years,” laughed Myrra. “Roby has a little bit better touch than Roope Hintz.”

Myrra added: “He’s one of the most talented young Ilves players in 10 years.”

Not a bad comparison but Jarventie is 15 months younger, they had similar AHL stats

I'm aware of that, but I tend to just use Beckman as the comparable because other Wild fans will understand what I'm referring to when I talk about Jarventie being a Boom or Bust candidate and what Jarventie's ceiling is.

A middle-six type who likely slots in on a team's 2nd or 3rd line, but has some interesting potential there to become more.

Aside from that their completely different players. But I'm not necessarily trying to relay that information right off the bat.
