Hopefully they can beat the Canes so we can get a second first round pick. Maybe we could get a potential steal in the later picks of round one or we could use that pick to upgrade our team potentially.

I love the Geekie pick as he is one of my favourite players in the draft, but Adam Ingram at the end of the 1st might be a bit early. I am all for getting some local talent but with the Rangers 1st we need to take the best player available and I am sure there will be a better player than falls.

Who should the Jets take besides Ingram if the pick is ... say ... 29th overall?

As a NYR fan I'm skeptical but crazier things have happened. I can only hope you are right, because if that is the case that means NYR really turn it up and well, if that happens look out TBL/FLA and whatever team makes it out of the west.

Only way NYR beats CAR:
- Fox's defensive game improves from this past series (seriously what is going on)
- Nemeth doesn't play AT ALL (Braun sucks but he's playing better than Nemeth lately)
- Shesterkin plays like he did in regular season (while last night was great overall, 3rd goal wasn't one he gives up in regular season)
- Panarin turns back into Panarin (hasn't been playing the same level)
- Zibanejad continues his faceoff prowess from last night (72% mostly against Crosby/Carter) & heater (7 points in last two games)
- No one gets injured
- The kid line keeps up the strong play (CAR definitely has better depth)
- NYR wins at least one of the first two games in CAR (if not both), CAR is too well coached to come back to NY down 2-0

Whoever falls. Ingram is probably more of a 2nd rounder.

Honestly I think the jets can get better players with both picks

Who would you pick that would be available at 14 and 29?

I would have to see but for me if lambert falls out of like the top 7 or 8, he’s a guy I would trade up for

Using the tankathon mock draft (there are probably better ones that are coming) to see who is available at those spots, I'd go with Geekie at 14 and either Ingram/Pickering at 29.

Pronman's mock draft (The Athletic, May 17th), Geekie is gone at 13 and Pickering is picked at 22. Among the #29-32 slots there were two that looked interesting to me. Of note, he projects Perfetti and Lucius as wings in the NHL.

14. Winnipeg Jets: Frank Nazar, C, USNTDP-USHL
Winnipeg has drafted two listed centers in the first round in Chaz Lucius and Cole Perfetti who are probably wings in the NHL, but Nazar has a chance to stick down the middle due to his great speed and compete despite his size. He’s got a bit of variance in opinions around the industry, with some in the NHL seeing him as a top ten pick and others more as a 15-25 pick.

29. Montreal Canadiens: Filip Bystedt, C, Linkoping-SHL
Bystedt has been a name trending in scout circles for the last few months, and some sources have felt he’s been a first rounder since the fall. He’s not full of highlight reels, but he’s a 6-foot-3 center who can skate and has some offense, so there’s a lot to dream on. He along with Wright and Nick Suzuki could solidify the Habs center depth for a while.

30. Arizona Coyotes: Sam Rinzel, RHD, Chaska-US High School
Rinzel has been a name I’ve heard floated as a late first/early second candidate for a while. He’s got a ways to go development-wise, but the toolkit is awesome as a 6-foot-4 defenseman who skates well for his size and shows some offense. He’d be a good swing for Arizona’s second first round pick.
