Description
This offseason is obviously going to have a lot of questions that need to be answered for the team, and it will be hard to predict it in all one take, hence the name. No question is bigger to the team right now than what is going to happen with Bergeron. IMO, I wouldn't think he would want his last game in a Bruins uniform to go down the way it did. I truly believe he's going to announce that his final year will be next year. Regardless of that situation, I see the team kind of falling back to where they were from 2014-15 to 2016-17. Not so much a playoff team, more so a in-between retooling team, since ownerships will never give the go on a full on rebuild. I wanna see Sweeney out really bad. I cannot take his god awful drafting and constant signing/trading for players just because they're from Boston or played College Hockey over here.

Re-signings: Can't be mad at Sweeney for bringing Zboril back though, he was solid before he got hurt and deserves a second chance. Not bringing back Blidh because he kinda sucks but I wouldn't be mad if he returns. Lazar may want a million, if so in that case let him go we should be able to fill in the gap quite easily. Rest are for AHL/Organizational Depth purposes.

FA Signings: Leddy is an established guy that will be able to put up points on the back end. He has been solid for St. Louis and he could really help grow Carlo if he does come over. 2 years or until Lohrei is ready. Won't be able to sign big names like Trochek, Copp, Domi, or Kadri to help the center position but you could just strengthen the depth of the position. Paul can play wing or center and should make a nice impact for that kind of money. And I know Blackwell is a Boston guy but I could see him as a great depth piece for a team like this.

Draft: As long as Sweeney isn't taking all the Boston guys I'll be content. He had a solid draft last year so hopefully he can follow up and pick another 1 or 2 guys to help grow the prospect pool. I also wouldn't be mad if he will try and trade into the first round. I think DeBrusk + a little more could easily get a pick in the 20-32 range.

I think this team has a good future but it is going to need some time before they can be considers contenders again. Taxi Squad guys are players I would also want/could see in the lineup next year. Be civil in the comments and Let's go Flames.

Trades
1.

  1. 2022 3rd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Fell like Isle fans are just waiting for this exact trade to happen irl. May actually be a fit now that Trotz is gone.
NYI
  1. Reilly, Mike
Additional Details:
I feel like the re-signing of Zboril all but confirms this. Reilly blew really hard this season but was actually decent in the playoffs but Forbort is better for the bottom pair plus he has a NTC.
2.
BOS
  1. Strome, Dylan [RFA Rights]
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (CHI)
CHI
  1. DeBrusk, Jake
  2. Mast, Ryan [Reserve List]
  3. Studnicka, Jack [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
B's don't have the assets to go after guys like Scheifele and Miller. If the Bruins were to go out and acquire someone on the market right now I think Strome would be the best fit. He can fill in on the first line wing, or slide between Hall and Pasta in the middle.
3.
BOS
  1. Spence, Jordan
  2. 2024 4th round pick (LAK)
LAK
  1. Grzelcyk, Matt
Additional Details:
I have drawn the line with Gryz, he needs to go. There has been no type of flawless transition we thought we were going to have after we let go of Krug. This past years playoffs were atrocious, he needs a new start in a new city.

Kings will be making moves to get bigger this offseason no interest in Grzelcyk.

What would you want from the Isles for DeBrusk and Reilly or Forbort?

Holmstrom and two 2nds?

Trading Reilly and Grzelcyk to overpay for Leddy who isn't better than either is a choice. Can Strome even play well as RW? Not the direction I would take especially if 37 returns, this is too much of the 2021-22 team.

We already know the CF value of Reilly. For DeBrusk Boston will want a piece that helps them win now and they'd need to replace DeBrusk if trading him.

Debrusk is better than Strome.

Grzelcyk was brutal in the playoffs, but it sounds like he was practically crippled. Problem is - as solid as he is, I’m not sure he’s got the frame to make it all the way through a playoff run without being too banged up to play properly. Moving him isn’t a bad idea, but replacing him with Leddy is.

I personally don't think that it's an overpayment compared to what he can put up offensively. I'll barely give you Grzelcyk, but Mike Reilly is not a better defenseman than Nick Leddy. I know Strome can play wing but the main reason for the move is also get him to slide down the middle on the 2nd if needed.
