Why would they trade down for quantity over quality?

They already have plenty of guys, they need starts.

Not enough IMO. The 9 OV would need to be included as a starting piece. Maybe 9 OV, 16 OV, Johnson and a 2nd.

This is better than most of the Canadiens mock trades but not enough for the Devils to trade the pick

No thats why the trade isnt only the florida 1st for the devils 1st? like not sure what you are trying to prove lol? by definition the 32nd overall pick is a 1st round selection
