Hard pass on the Sammy and Mantha trades. Those are terrible for the Caps. They're going to keep Sammy and move VV. Mantha is amazing, no way they move him and if they do it would be for a MUCH better return than that. They'd get 1st+2nd as a minimum.

Zadorov is also bad. He's worth nowhere near that.

He's fine, not as good as everyone paints him. I wouldn't mind having him but I'm sure he'll get way more than what he's actually worth.

These moves would certainly lower the average age of the team and afford the luxury of giving regular off days to the older players depending on match-ups. Protas, Leason, and Alexeyev could rotate in and out as needed. Protas and Leason are big bodied young forwards who can play against bigger more physical teams as needed when tweeners like Sheary and Snively would likely get pushed around.

Mantha has scored at a 21 goal pace since joining the team and has 0 goals in 11 playoff games. How is he amazing?

I like it although I think you underestimate Snively, he doesn't seem tentative or afraid at all and he can score (very small sample though). Leason needs to look at himself and see his big frame and start not being afraid or tentative. There's nothing worse in hockey than a big guy who is soft. Not saying he is, but he needs to not be afraid to use that frame.

He's the best play driver we have. He's so freakn good. If he didn't miss 5 months due to shoulder injury he'd have even more goals. The crazy thing is how good he's been without playing with a top 6 center. He's either played with Eller or Backstrom that wasn't playing like a top 6 center due to his injury.
