If Leafs are trading Nylander, it should be for a much cheaper forward because of the cap, so they might do it for Marchand 1M retained. I don’t see the licker leaving Boston, though. But you never know (Chara)

If bergeron retires, the trade is pure futures. If he doesn’t retire - not traded. Doesn’t make any sense.

Well, while marchand isn’t much cheaper, he’s also ten times the player. Acquiring awesome contracts isn’t a bad thing

After the Hathaway hit, Marchand's shooting% dropped significantly. He won't be elite forever. Toronto would be getting a 35yr old that's probably having off season shoulder surgery.

Bruins get a younger replacement with a decent cap hit that put up 80 pts and a 1st round pick.

I'd make that trade.

Is this real life? You’re talking about his shooting percentage dipping after a hit?

A hit which resulted in an AC joint inury which may require surgery to fix, yes.
