3.7 mill over 2 years costs more than a 4th and Buffalo isnt sending anything back. Nobody wants Mrazek, buy him out

Don't think the Jets would want Nylander as a return for Schiefele

I think there's some juice to that San Jose deal - Reimer is obviously not their goalie of the future, so they can get back a pick and see what they can get out of Kerfoot - he's around the same age as Meier & Hertl, so you can either keep him around if he clicks with them, or flip him out at TDL as an expiring deal and get more futures out of it.

Mrazek is just a buyout at this point - his contract is backloaded, so the cap floor teams don't want him, and his performance is subpar, so everyone else is going to want to get something extra out of the deal if you're trading him. The best move still is to buy him out and eat a couple years of cap penalty.

Nylander for Scheifele doesn't feel like a one-for-one trade - but I think it's an interesting place to start. I feel like both teams add to build a package - maybe Toronto adds a little more than the Jets, but not much.

I think you could probably have Wood for less than this package. He's an RFA making $2.75M, coming off an injury, and I'm not sure how strongly he fits into the Devils plans. Feels like you could throw them a late round pick for his RFA rights and then flip Holl for a 3rd/4th somewhere else and keep your 1st.

Sharks accept. We need points and will sacrifice some saves to get them.

How nice do you want me to be??? 🤣

I dont see them trading for Reimer, he's a good vet and is going to stay in San Jose. Maybe Aiden Hill if you believe in his talent? Kerfoot will get dealt for draft picks as they need more prospects in the organization. 2nd+3rd or late first might be where he ends up

Probably takes a 2nd and prospect for mrazek, or just buying him out might be cheaper.

I get the concept of trading Nylander for a center, but personally I think Scheifele is overrated. Also (I don't have evidence) but he seems like a problem in the room. I'd target someone else, but I understand the thought process.

I like miles wood, but what is this package? Maybe 1 draft pick for him? He didn't really play last year. Could be a good player for them with his speed/size combo.

While I agree it probably wouldn't take less than a 1st for Wood, I think he will be part of our plans going forward.
He is very popular with management and players, plays the style of game we lacked last year, and is a glue guy for locker room.
The only question is health.

Wood alone would not command a large trade price because he was out last season after hip surgery.
He came back for a few games, but not enough for us to expect 100 cents on the dollar.

But I think NJD keeps him for another year, even if it walks him to his UFA year, and go from there.
He is important to our lineup and we don't really need another mid-round pick.

Agreed, no point in dealing a guy at his all time low value. Hopefully he comes back at full strength, has a prove me year and earns a good contract
