I was thinking of who might trade up during the draft and I wouldn't be surprised if the Wings did this, but I wanna hear some thoughts.

And no, the lines aren't in order

I would love to see it happen but I don't see anyone in the top 3 moving down. The price to move up into the top 3 may be a little to high for Yzerman's liking. He is more then likely to stay at 8 and grab his guy. He has done a terrific job identifying players so I don't anticipate he moves up. If I am GM I am moving whatever draft picks it takes to grab one of Wright or Cooley. I made an AGM today where i proposed moving the 8 OV, 2023 1st (top 10 protected) a 2nd and a prospect. I think it's an overpay but I think that is what it would take to get into the top 3 for one of those guys.

I can’t see it happening. Best case pick Lekkerimaki, Geekie or Lambert and develop them into an elite top 6 player

Why would anyone do this? Can you find me the last GM that did this?

None of these kids are guaranteed to be NHL players....enter the lottery, accept your position, make the best selection possible. That's it.

So by that logic you wouldn't trade up for McDavid because he isn't guaranteed? Cooley is one of the only guaranteed players actually

lol you're comparing Cooley to McDavid?

There is no such thing as a guarantee....try again.

Again, if you can find me an example of this happening in the somewhat recent past, I'll listen.
