Sharks easily decline, no hesitation. Burns is twice the player.

So the Sharks are essentially paying 8 million for Muzzin for the next two years. Sorry but hard pass the point of trading Burns is to move his cap.

Most teams are not willing to take Burns for three more years even at a reduced cap hit. The Sharks are going to have to take a bad contract back to unload Burns. Muzzin is still a good player in spurts, and Kerfoot is a good middle six versatile player. The Sharks can do worse.

The Sharks can do better by just keeping Burns. That trade isn’t even close to making sense for the Sharks.
