    Sabres decline

And it’s frankly quite the ridiculous proposal
Even if the value was good, there’s absolutely zero chance Buffalo gives up all those assets for 2 “rentals”
There’s just no way we’d even consider it

Would rather Olofsson than Boeser and the rest is just a massive overpay

Haha oh dear. This is probably why Buffalo has been awful for so long. You must be the GM.

Olafsson's ceiling is Boeser's floor come on now. Plus Boeser is younger.

Why has Vancouver done anything themselves lately, and the only reason those players are being moved is cause your GM needs cap space.

Funny and Olofsson outscored Boeser. Boeser might be younger but I can get the same production from Olofsson for probably 2 to 3m cheaper

Well we've made the playoffs and not been a complete embarrassment but I realize it's kind of a pot calling the kettle black in that regard. The real point of me saying that is that Miller is an incredible talent, multi faceted, plays any position, tough, ppg min, 99 points last season, makes 5.25 mil. Boeser is also a very good top 6 winger, who had a rough yr for personal reasons. If you could get them on Buffalo you'd do it in a heartbeat. But it would cost a lot more than this.

We are not that desperate for cap space. These are both high end assets.

It's just a classic case of overvaluing potential. You'd just hope one of them could be as good as Boeser, none are gonna be half of what Miller is.

That's how I read it too, olofsson will be cheaper though. Take out olofsson and boeser and you are moving 16oa, peterka, asplund, and jokiharju for jt Miller.

Miller is fantastic, the problem is the 1yr on his contract

Exactly Boeser had huge personal issues this season. Had prob his least productive season and it was on par with Olofsson's best season.

Look a little deeper and you'll see Boeser's value is more than just offense, where as Olofsson's is strictly offense.

I think any trade that is made for Miller is going to involve an extension. This fact alone may eliminate Buffalo from contention.

    No, it’s smart
You don’t trade valuable assets when you’re in the middle of a rebuild for rental players who can walk after this season
    That’s just stupid

    This trade isn’t gonna happen
    ZERO CHANCE

So just give it up, and move along now

I would never include JJ in that deal even if it was just for Miller. Already getting a 20+ goal scorer a Top 4 RD one of the best Defensive forwards in the game with offensive upside and the 16th pick

Buffalo wins that trade. The Canucks are left without much depth on the wings. This only makes sense if there are prospects ready to graduate, and sadly there really aren't many.

Talk to your fellow Van fan
Sabres fans didn’t make this offer- and WE are turning it down

Btw, how’d u guys do in the playoffs this year?
    Oh, that’s right…. U weren’t in it either

This is actually kinda funny in an ironic way but Boeser had a wrist injury last season too.

I was referring more to overall play more than injuries though. For instance Dom's model has Boeser's worth at 6.9 mil and Olofsson's at 2.7.

Oh I know, the OP was not good on this. I was aghast at the offer and how much it favored Buffalo. But then I was even more shocked when a couple Buffalo fans said they'd turn it down. Shocking. So ya a just made my case that you'd never get those two for that anyway just to point out how wrong you are.

No high horse at all. Van has been managed horribly in recent seasons that is a fact.

It was a Vancouver fan that put this trade out there. And now that I look at it Boeser has Arb. RIghts. He's getting into Rhino range contract wise. So that even hurts what he's worth.

Why would you be surprised. We are giving assets away that could help us for years on a chance that Miller resigns next year and Boeser well Olofsson can give me that. If there was a contract extension in place than it might be different. Still wouldn't include JJ

So for 6.9m I could get 20-30 goals or for 2.7 I could get 20-30 goals. What would you choose. Only reason Boeser is even that high is because of his Arb. RIghts and the stupid contract Vancouver signed him to.

You're right it's probably one of those lose, lose deals. Miller isn't the right age for Buffalo, though maybe some vet leadership could go a long way in that room. But in terms of the value coming back to Van for two of our best fwds, it's just pitiful. It's a bunch semi decent but not really high end young players for a super star and a star.
