Am I the only one who just realized cap friendly made an NBA version of itself?!?! I’m super hyped, I’ve always wondered if there was an NBA version out there since that’s my second favourite sports league to follow and now there is. Anyone know how long it’s been a thing?

Considering how it’s only been plastered at the top of CapFriendly for like a day, says on the front page it’s releasing features in the coming weeks and you can’t create accounts on there yet, I’d say it’s very new

Don't think they'd be able to justify a non-indy race or event in the month of may but the other dates would have been perfectly fine, i agree. The map of where races are occurring is also disappointing to see, barely branching out from a straight line north-south of Indy and a couple races on the west coast. I'd have hoped they would find places to go that would make it more national and more interesting.

I've had this "dream IndyCar schedule" doc in my drive for years that i've been continuously updating, i intended for it to be somewhat short but the amount of stuff i want to see spiraled into the schedule being thirty races long. Oops.

Round 1: Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (St. Petersburg Street Course)
Round 2: SiriusXM 300 (Homestead-Miami Speedway)
Round 3: Indy Grand Prix of North Carolina (Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval)
Round 4: Truist Bank 250 (Richmond Raceway)
Round 5: Firestone Indy 300 (Nashville Superspeedway)
Round 6: Music City Grand Prix (Nashville Street Course)
Round 7: Quaker State Indy 300 (Kentucky Speedway)
Round 8: Kroger 200 (Indianapolis Raceway Park)
Round 9: Gallagher Grand Prix of Indianapolis (Indianapolis Motor Speedway RC)
Round 10: Indianapolis 500 (Indianapolis Motor Speedway)
Round 11: BorgWarner-Delphi Indy 300 (Chicagoland Speedway)
Round 12: Firestone Indy 400 (Michigan International Speedway)
Round 13: Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix (Detroit Street Course)
Round 14: Sonsio Grand Prix at Road America (Road America)
Round 15: HyVee Salute to Farmers 300 (Iowa Speedway)
Round 16: Honda Indy 200 (Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course)
Round 17: Wisconsin 250 (Milwaukee Mile)
Round 18: Cheez-It Indy At The Glen (Watkins Glen International)
Round 19: ABC Supply 500 (Pocono Raceway)
Round 20: Bommarito Automotive Group 500 (Gateway Motorsports Park)
Round 21: Charter Communications 300 (Kansas Speedway)
Round 22: Honda Grand Prix of Alabama (Barber Motorsports Park)
Round 23: Indy Grand Prix of Dallas (Circuit of the Americas)
Round 24: Bombardier Learjet Indy 500K (Texas Motor Speedway)
Round 25: Indy Grand Prix of Mexico City (Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez)
Round 26: Desert Diamond Indy 300 (Phoenix Raceway)

Round 28: Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma (Sonoma Raceway)
Round 29: Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey (Laguna Seca Raceway)
Finale: Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach (Long Beach Street Course)

Much more national, and it makes some semblance of sense on a map. Starting in mid-March in Florida, and ending in the fall in California.

I have the gut feeling he's either going to do DTM or V8 Supercars (he is a New Zealander after all). He'll definitely still be on speed-dial with Alpha Tauri in case Danny Ric or Yuki begin underperforming.

Josef Newgarden had a few test laps there three years ago, and the car handled the roval really well (although that was only one car), so i doubt it would be overly chaotic. IRP's oval, on the other hand, would be either amazing or awful. Having 24 or more cars going that fast around a .6 mile oval is a bit of a stretch, but it could work.

I wish the road course wasn't in a state of disrepair, but maybe give the management a year or two and it'll be usable again.

To kinda expound on why some tracks were left out, and ideas that i had about the races that are already on the schedule (since my dad and i had a long conversation about this last night):

- The Detroit street race after MIS will alternate year-to-year from the actual city itself and the street course in Belle Isle. Let's just say, for the sake of putting it on a calendar, odd years, starting with 2025 get the race at Belle Isle, while even years, starting next season, get Detroit.

- Speaking of MIS, I had the idea of turning the Michigan race into our version of throwback weekend, a la the Southern 500. It makes some semblance of sense: MIS was where CART tried to make their version of the Indy 500, so it has some history. I just want to see the old cars, from the Lightning Bolt CGR cars/Marlboro Penske cars to the Miller Genuine Draft car that Bobby Rahal used to drive being fielded for Rahal-Letterman-Lanigan. Man, that car was gorgeous...

- Dad argued that after Mid-Ohio, the series should go to Burke airport in Cleveland. In my mind when i was setting this up, i thought of it as a "one or the other" thing: we either go to Mid-Ohio, or we go to Cleveland. The season was long enough anyway.

- New Hampshire was a track that my dad argued for after the Watkins Glen race. The problem was that i didn't want to risk the NHMS race being just as bad as it was in 2011. Yes, it was the race that gave us Will Power flipping the double-bird, but other than that, the race was a disaster. Most of that was because of the rain, but still, it's not worth the risk.

- I had completely forgotten about a race in Canada, but by the time i realized it was missing, the season was too long. I'd send them to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park instead of the Toronto street course, since I prefer purpose-built courses. It's less of a logistical headache for the city.

- Pikes Peak International Raceway is still being used, so if Portland International Raceway ends up being somewhat disappointing, then just put PPIR there. The more ovals, the better.

Both excited and not optimistic. Glad motorsport games is gone, but i worry the game will attract the sweatiest, most toxic members of Iracing who take it far too seriously and will make online no fun. If they have a solid offline mode though, I'll be happy.

Such a great post WS-production work by the FOX-network...
(Dave Flemming (SF Giants) is a gem. Not Vin or Costas (no one is) but he's next in line...

Loved the finale - multi iso-cams on each of the players were shown as they hit-up the called 3rd strike to win it all...
Very good production work - gold!

Fox can be so hit or miss on production, I'm glad they really hit this one. I won't lie, I was pulling for the D-Backs, but I don't mind seeing the Rangers getting one finally. Does this technically mean Washington gets another World Series since they used to be the Senators? tears of joy

Ahh Nova, ur "jacked"...but are you "juiced" too LOL!

Early on, this was a toss-up WS...
D-Backs were cagey and in the games - they just went cold, maybe a bit of "deer in the headlights" perhaps...

I'm juiced all righ- I mean no, of course I would never do something so anti-baseball Mr Manfred, I don't know how those steroids got into my locker!

I thought the series for Arizona was over after the poor strike zone and brutal send of Walker in Game 3, they just felt dead going into game 4 and it showed, like they had already given up. I'd probably chalk it up to a lack of true Postseason Experience, if I remember correctly only Evan Longoria had ever been to a WS before and that was when he was super young, and I felt that lack of experience really hurt them (lack of good starting pitchers as well).

Historically he's been decent at Pheonix so I wouldn't say it would be a shock, but I don't think he'll be able to beat out Byron and Larson.

Good synopsis brother.
15-yrs between series for Longo!!!
15YEARS MOFO!!

I think the "new" manager style sticking to analytics is also killer too (see B Jays for a comparison).

ps: That locker of yours has a mighty wind coming from it too whew/LOL

Yeah I think it may end up hurting Arizona now that Lovullo's job is basically completely protected for the next couple years. I was honestly surprised they kept him around for this long and I'm not super optimistic that he'll be able to pull another magical run out to keep his job. Although I know they won't, If I was Arizona I would pursue Craig Counsell heavily. Gotta say, growing up, Longo was one of my favorite players from when I started paying attention to baseball in 2012, so it sucks to see what could realistically be his last chance at a ring fail at the final hurdle.

He's a players coach which is good (TL) and now hopefully he's got the chip on his shoulder/ "I'll show You Mo-Fo's" attitude?
But so do 30 other clubs & 162Gms + right now

Love me some Reggie Jackson, even though I was far too young to watch him play! Outside of how good of a player he was, My dad was very eager to show me his scenes in Naked Gun (which were hilarious and has become one of my favorite all time movies) and I love that he's still involved in the game now.
