Easy reject by habs
We have lots of LD we do not really need Girard at this stage in our teams direction
Especially at that price.
I'd pay 1st + Norlinder MAX
Not our best defensive forward who can score 15-25-40 in the future and our only legitimate RHD prospect, and a 1st for 2nd paid LD defenseman
This is not thought out
Just because he's from Quebec, doesn't mean we're interested in him, or we'd pay a kings ransom for him.
Sorry, no more taking advantage of us!

@Brian9Rogers

Girard was mostly used on the right side with Colorado.

How about Girard for Dvorak and MTL 2022 33rd overall? Pick is almost a 1st.

Dvorak would be a decent 2C for now, and cheap enough to be 3C when Newhook is ready to play top 6.

MTL and COL did good for each others on the Lehkonen trade, i'm sure they can find the perfect deal for Girard.

No take backs on Barron. We like him!
That Florida unprotected 1st is gold.
I want to bask in its glory til the Panthers inevitably go on a run that turn it into essentially an early 2nd. But that promise can not be submarined until then.

Heck no, MTL can have fun eating that Dvorak contract, he isn’t a 2C not even remotely close. On top of that Girard out scores Dvorak and you think the difference is a 2nd. Yeah full reject on that trade idea. I could see COL moving Girard but both pieces would be significantly better than Dvorak and the 33rd pick.

Lots of stuff that doesn’t make sense in this ACGM. You trade Girard and then spend more than his cap hit on 2 inferior dmen in Dekeyser and Kulak, when you could have just used less money re-signed Manson or just inserted Barron who is going to better than Kulak and Dekeyser. On top of that Mike Hoffman is just an awful hockey player, and he plays zero and I mean zero defense. The odds of Shane Bowers, NAK, and Maltsev all getting 3 yr deals are about as good as me getting a 4yr deal to play for the Avs.

Dvorak has been playing well under St-Louis, like most Habs players. I think his value is back to a first.

You say 33rd overall is a 2nd, but it's almost a first.

If you think you're getting more than 2 first round picks in term of value for Girard, you're about to be disapointed.

Who gives a rip if played well under MS, he’s never scored 40pts or even 20 goals, how did it work out for MTL playing him at 2C. He gets destroyed 5v5. It’s funny you think a 23yo minute eating dman that produces 30pts season in season out without PP1 time, eats 20+ minutes a game and is locked up for half a decade on contract and can play both sides doesn’t fetch more. Oh that’s right he’s short. Give me a break. If COL were to trade him they are going to want a proven young top 6 winger with term plus a kicker. I mean ffs look at what MTL got for the traffic cone Chiarot and you’re trying to tell me I’d be disappointed. Thanks for the feedback.

Eat the Dvorak contract? 4.4 million for a 50 point 2-way center isn't bad at all, lmao

Chiarot was a rental, that why MTL got that much for him.

Colorado, like a few other teams, will need a cheap 2C this summer. I think Dvorak will be traded for a first.

I said you'd be disapointed if you think you're getting more than two 1st in term of value for Girard. I don't thinl COL get a top prospect for him.

Not saying they absolutly want Dvorak as a 2C. A few teams were reportedly interested in him before he was traded to MTL. Maybe COL was one of them.

Except Dvorak isn’t a 50 point guy that is a flat out lie. He has never even scored 40pts in a season. But you go right ahead lying to yourself. But yeah $4.4M with a career high 38pts great bargain.

COL has Newhook they have never been interested in Dvorak saw more than enough in AZ, was literally in shock when MTL gave up a 1st. COL has 3 guys besides Newhook who can play c if needed in Landeskog, Rantanen (both those guys had to do it this year) and in a pinch Compher.

It’s funny you say “more than 2 1st rd picks” and yet this trade doesn’t even have 1. Spare me the 33rd is almost a 1st it isn’t. Dvorak isn’t worth a 1st so yeah that wasn’t even close, and while I think you are way over estimating Dvorak’s value (not a 2C) the market for dmen especially dmen that have Girard’s abilities is pretty high.

Separate note good stuff, love talking hockey.

If you leave out his games played on purpose, you know you are wrong. Gotta wonder why you never mentioned them, lmao
