I think that is fair for one year of Scheifele, and I do think the rangers are a great fit. But put on a helmet because Winnipeg fans are going to come after you for this.

Think I would just spend the money on ufa copp, save the first for a rental at deadline.

Rangers shouldn’t do the Arz deal. I would be fine with Carcone + 5th for Nemeth + Kravstov . Carcone could be a great low value Contract bottom 6.

Yeah I love Copp and he’s fit in really well since the trade so definitely wouldn’t mind him being back long term. Also hopefully we don’t even have the 2022 1st after tomorrow night lol

I was originally going to make a Kravtsov for Hayton package but I saw Ritchie and remembered Larry Brooks said the Rangers wanted him last offseason so who knows if interest is still there. I wouldn’t mind Carcone honestly give me anything that gets Nemeth out of NY lol

Ya I’m a jets fan, with only guys in my playoff draft are 5 rangers, so definitely a playoff rangers fan this year. That kid line needs more time together, could be a interesting 2nd line in a year or two. Might need to figure out some more elc going forward not less. Copp is a beauty, I would take 22 on a roster and take my chances. He will find a way to be successful and shelve the ego, and do whatever is asked.

There are 2 years remaining on Scheifele's contract.

To the Thread Starter . . . if Rangers win tomorrow, your '22 1st Round Pick goes to the Jets as part of the Copp trade, anyhow. Would need to be next years' pick.

Counter proposal . . . .
To New York: Scheifele and the '23 3rd Rounder
TO Winnipeg: Schneider and either the 1st or 2nd Round pick this year (whichever is NOT rewarded to Jets after tomorrow); as well as a conditional pick of some kind if Scheifele re-signs

I’m aware that a Rangers win tomorrow gives Winnipeg our 2022 1st, but you could still use the base of my proposal and just make it 2022 2nd and 2023 1st. As for Schneider I really think he’s an untouchable, NYR are gonna look to get out of that Trouba contract after 2024 when his NMC turns into a 15 team no trade and we have no one else in the org on the right side with his size.

I have seen JET FANS on here describe Scheifele as "Lazy"....."Locker room cancer".....and "doesn't know how to play defense", so why on earth would you trade for him when they have Copp OR Strome that they can sign at 2C, and at a lower cap hit? Schief may have more offensive potential than either of them, but winning hockey games and playoff games is about more than just offense. NO THANKS to Scheief at any cost.

Yeah realistically I expect us to have a pretty boring offseason probably just re-sign Copp and keep the kid line together. Could see a line combination of

Kreider Zib Blais
Panarin Copp Goodrow
Laf Chytil Kakko
Motte Rooney Reaves

I know there’s a lot of rumors about Scheifele being a bad locker room presence and his lack of defense which you don’t really have to worry about either with Copp

Yeah all likelihood they just re-sign Copp which I’m more than happy with just throwing the Scheifele possibility out there. No interest in re-signing Strome tho he’s gonna get massively overpaid this offseason in my opinion

I will take either at 2C, but you're probably right that Copp gets signed and Strome moves on. Copp has just fit in so well and has been great in the playoffs.

Basically would be zib x 2, just probably not in the budget, and probably not great going forward with the cap. Goal should be to develop the kids, and possibly trade back into first if a win tomorrow and just keep building. Nice squad coming, and if there was a bargain lhd dman possibly and a little more offensive 2c, but possibly both luxurious that can’t be afforded. Got to develop the kids and hopefully sign under there contributions.

Figured on Schneider!! If I'm Jets GM he's definitely my first target, though!! (SO wanted the Jets to draft Schneider 2 years ago!) No surprise re: Trouba!!

Just feel like Copp is more versatile than Strome. Better at faceoffs, better penalty killer, and will probably fit in well on the first powerplay unit next year.

Yeah Trouba has been solid here just not worth 8 million aav. With all the big contracts kicking in next year plus Laffy and K’Andre needing new deals soon I think they look to move Trouba as soon as possible which kinda makes Schneider untouchable

He has been since he joined the team, but its a small sample size. Stromer has been a good player for the Rangers since he joined the team and has been a team guy, so I really do hate to see him go. But getting Copp makes it easier for sure. If they do sign Copp, I hope he is really this good.

Schneider isn't going anywhere. He is Trouba's replacement once his NMC burns off.

That first might be the jets anyways. Big win tonight by the rangers and it is!!
I dont think that's enough Schefile anyways. You're right about using the money on Copp, he's been really good for you guys

He's still a point per game player who had more points this year than Chytl has had his last three seasons. Yes, wee have criticized his attitude and his lack of defensive effort, but he still has more value than this proposal.

No from Winnipeg. The offer needs to start with Schneider and the Rangers 23 1st. Small offense only defensemen and disappointing draft picks don't hold much value to the Jets.

Chytil is a 3C so the comparison means nothing. Thats like comparing Mika to Lowry, its apples and oranges. And my post said Scheif is a good offensive player but that THE RANGERS have ZERO need for him because of his attitude and lack of defensive skills. The Jets can trade him to a team that doesn't care about that stuff, and I say good luck to you.

First off, there will be no offer from the Rangers and secondly, Schneider by himself is worth more than Scheif, so keep dreaming because you will never see Schneider in a Jets sweater.

Lol. 3rd pairing defenseman aren't worth more than PPG 1C's. You should see if you can get your Ranger fan buddies to stop their daily begging for Scheifele then.

Left over bits and bobs don't get it done.

LOL, what nonsense. It's 99.9% Jet fans on here trying to pawn off your locker room cancer for a 20 year old stud RD. Nice try at spinning it but you stink at it, so give it up. Enjoy watching the Rangers (and Schneider) play their 14th playoff game today while Scheif and boys play golf.
