Good looking line-up. JT Miller can watch them play in the playoffs again next year.

Ya maybe boring, but probably all that is needed, I like that top 9 possibly add a offensive rental at deadline just to top it up a little, but lots of interchangeable parts and variety of ways to stack it up.

True sometimes you already have all that you need, key for the Rangers is just for the kids to take the next step in their development which if these playoffs are any indication we should be in good hands

For sure, and sometimes key not to put too much money or vets in front of them and feel obligated to play the vet and the money ahead of the kids. Ideally chytil turns into that ideal 2c and goodrow and copp can be used anywhere 1 through 9, and kakko and Alexis can fill the holes in top 6. So the top 9 doesn’t need any adds that cost anything. That way top 9 basically has a little bit of everything.

I wonder if there’s a bargain youthful left handed dman to be had or a bargain 4c that has the potential to push the top 3cs. That’s what I would look into for this off-season, and hope for a healthy cap raise going forward.

How does Lafreniere, Chytil, Miller, and Jones' extensions work out the following season?

Buyout $ off the books
Cap goes up
Reaves leaves
Lindgren traded
Worst case scenario is a Trouba buyout. I think most of them will take quick bridge deals to run at a cup till the NMC change the following year.

Even worse, there are bonuses to be paid reducing. the cap 23/24.

And again the fantasy that Nemeth will include a poor team with cap on his trade list.

24 teams is a long enough trade list for that to not be considered farfetched fantastic thinking. Bonuses are also going to be fine in 23-24 considering the fact there isn’t even any carryover going into 22-23.

Only thing that needs to be changed is the 2nd round pick to move Nemeth. You could probably get a 6th alone for him but if you had to include an asset it will probably only be a 4th or 5th round pick.

I hope that’s all it would take to move him but I’ve heard rumors that it might take a 2nd to get someone to take him

If that was the case, the NYR would just buy him out. His cap hit would be $1M this season, $0 next season and $1M the following 2 seasons if they go that route but I wouldnt be surprised if they are able to trade him straight up for a 6th round pick. You have to also remember that NHL GM's arent the smartest and keep on signing bad players to contract every year.
