Trades
1.
DAL
  1. Myers, Tyler
Additional Details:
Dallas brings in the giant Myers, to pair with the young puck-moving Harley in its second D pair. This is the equivalent of when the Stars had Polak/Oleksiak playing bodyguard for Heiskanen.
VAN
  1. Faksa, Radek
Additional Details:
Vancouver finds a taker for Myers and creates almost $3M in cap space.
2.
DAL
  1. Bailey, Josh
Additional Details:
Dallas moves Suter to create a spot for Harley on the 2nd D pair. Bailey slides in and hopefully provides some sort of offensive production to help the Stars score more goals.
NYI
  1. Suter, Ryan
Additional Details:
The Islanders move on from Bailey, bringing in Suter and recreating the bromance between he and Parise.
3.
DAL
  1. Lundkvist, Nils
  2. Nemeth, Patrik
Additional Details:
Dallas helps NY by taking Nemeth off their hands and picks up Lundkvist as its long-term replacement for Klingberg.
NYR
  1. Gurianov, Denis [RFA Rights]
  2. Hanley, Joel
Additional Details:
NY moves Nemeth and gets back a very cheap veteran depth defenseman, and also picks up Gurianov to play on its 2nd line. With Lundkvist stuck behind Fox, Trouba, and Schneider the Rangers move him to improve the team now.

Honestly it kind of makes sense lol. Bailey can still provide value, but the isles have too many forwards and not enough defenseman.

Forewarning that Nemeth and Lundkvist weren’t exactly the best defence pair this past season lol

Agreed. If you weren’t sending Gurianov to NYR it might make sense for Dallas tho. Nile Lundkvist has real ability.

I don’t think rangers or isles would do it, but I might be willing to take Nemeth for Lundkvist lol. Would be a deal with the devil tho. Nemeth is the worst NHL defenseman I’ve ever seen, and I had to watch Andy Greene for back to back conference finals runs.

I’ve discussed trades involving Gurianov and Lundkvist, but I don’t think it makes the most sense to slot him with nemeth again if you’re gunning for that real ability.

My thinking was pairing Nemeth with Hakanpaa for a 3rd pair, and giving Lundkvist time to develop. When they do want to give him NHL minutes, they can protect him with someone solid defensively like Lindell.

I don't like the VAN trade, but I'd be content with New York deals.

Jack Johnson and Libor Hajek weren’t really any better for us either heh… Our 3LD role is cursed!

That can def work if you send Lundkvist to AHL at the start of the season. That’s how we grew Schneider and Lindgren.

Should be Jones and Schneider. Rangers overpaid for Trouba and then had to pay for Mika so their cap situation is messed up. Signing Goodrow was a bad idea too, they should’ve kept Buchnevich.

I’m a big fan of Lundkvist as a bottom pair guy on a contending team, but the rangers have 17 really good right handed d men.

I’m jealous of ur roster construction on defense. Rangers did a much better job drafting d men in the past five years then the Isles did. Of course Lou traded half our picks for veteran wingers lmao.

What do you think about Dellandrea and Damiani for Lundkvist?

The Isles dodged this bullet last summer when 36 year old Ryan Suter signed with Dallas instead of them - I don't think it would be smart to go back to that well when he's a year older, even if it means moving on from Josh Bailey.

That seems more of a lateral move for New York. Gurianov on the other hand would serve to expand the status quo, which was why we rented Frank Vatrano.
