Love this for the Canucks' forward group. The defense remains a question mark, but they're a very coachable group, so I wouldn't be too worried if nothing changes.

Garland nets a first but Miller doesn't? No way Van moves Miller without one, or an A++ prospect.

I think the Carolina trade is pretty solid. Necas has stagnated and Jarvis has shown more than him, I don't think his value is as high as some people think. From their roster, they upgrade Necas (middle-6 winger) to a bonafide top line player in Miller at the price of a prospect and a 1st. That's a very solid move for a team looking to contend right now. I do think Miller would have to come with an extension though.

Garland trade is good value, I'm not sure about Grans as a prospect though. I agree Garland is another likely trade candidate.

I don't understand why anyone would want Nichushkin at more than 3M. He played on the top line with MacKinnon for half the year and inflated his stats in a contract year. He's a good player but will probably be overpaid this summer.

If we're taking back Hornqvist from the Panthers then I'd like to get a player from them as well, someone like Luostarinen.

Grans and the 51st overall is probably all we're likely to pay for Garland. If we don't use our 2022 first ourselves, it'll be part of a trade for a #1 LD rather than used for a guy who will have to replace two of Kempe, Arvidsson and Kaliyev at RW in our top 6.

Ya the defense is more of a work in project. It will take some time to rebuild but with the additions of Morrow and Grans they should both be part of the top 6 in 2yrs time.

Ya I've seen that offer on here and I'd consider it if the right prospect is available at 51 but I figured I'd try something a bit different here.

I just get this mystical feeling that we'll select Kevin Korchinski at #19 if he's still there, we still have the pick, and there are no surprise drops from the top 10.

I agree with this take. Also Cane's fans will say Morrow is the second coming of Makar because of their similar point production at UMASS during their first seasons, which he's not.
I would do either of: Necas, Morrow, a 2nd-3rd OR Necas, Keane, a 1st.
