Recently saw this proposal in an article and I’ve come to like it. I think it makes sense for both sides. Also, if I recall correctly Minnesota was interested in Necas a couple seasons ago, I’m not sure if Guerin was in office at that point but it’s something to note.

I’m sure he could but I see even on other sites they list necas as a RW. Could he slot in at center? Or would it make more sense to play him with boldy and Rossi while Hartman resumes on the first line? But part of me kind of hopes we keep Jost. I think he’ll be a stand out

Would really like this as canes fan. I hate letting Necas go - he’s had a tough year but I think he’ll break out somewhere else and that’ll be tough to watch but think this makes a ton of sense for both sides.

Exact same feeling of losing Fiala as a Wild fan just for different reasons lol. Guerin will one day regret trading Fiala away.

Intention was to develop him into a C but way things unfolded in Carolina with so much C depth last couple years it made more sense to keep him at winger. Believe he wants to transition to C but could slot in either way and be an impact player in the top 6.

Seems like a really fair deal, I like this. Also would be sad to see Jost go.

I’m not really sure. I’ve been told he’s a natural center but the Canes have good centers and figured he’d be more useful at RW so they stuck him there. I think if Necas were to put on a Wild sweater come fall that they would at least have to try him at center. I know Hartman just had a great season but he’s a natural winger and had a few droughts throughout the season. I just think that Necas is more skilled than Hartman and would be able to keep up with 97 and 36 better than Hartman does.

Think it makes a ton of sense, although the more I see and think about this trade it feels a bit favored on the Wild's side.

I’d rather it be someone like Greenway or Goligoski but Guerin just extended them so I don’t see that happening.

I’m guessing Carolina’s 2023 1st is between 26-32 so a late 1st and a good roster player with lots of potential for a solidified stud who is very good at putting the puck in the back of the net. It may be a little favored on MNs side but I’m sure the real GMs would iron out whatever wrinkles they felt they needed to before the trade is finalized, maybe MN adds a 3rd or something.

Yeah agreed. I don’t see Greenway going anywhere unless it’s for an overpay. Alex G for sure is staying with his no move and really for 2 mil per year that’s not awful for a 3rd pair D. I do think he broke down in the second half of the season. The first half he played well.

I'd definitely do Fiala and a 3rd for Necas and a 2023 1st. I could see Addison being used as bait as well

Agreed! I think the Wild would for sure try him at C. I believe Hartman also was pretty bad on face offs.

I still think if Guerin trades Addison it’s a bad move, if he can improve his defense he’s basically Spurgeon 2.0. Guerin did say on Russo’s podcast last week that he plans on Addison being a big part of the NHL club next season so hopefully that’s a good sign. He’s absolutely dominated the AHL so I’m not sure what the problem is with him.

Many media members have speculated their Dcore is too small with Dumba and Spurgeon on the right side. So if Addison is in There with them, that makes it even smaller. I think for Addison to have a role next season, Dumba needs to be shipped out.

I heard that, I think it was just GM speak. Their actions spoke quite differently, opting to scratch him despite numerous injuries to our blue line. I just don't think they're very high on him. We may end up regretting moving him if we do, but it just wouldn't surprised me if he's floated as bait

I truly think he has a Robert Thomas type breakout year in him

I see! Definitely not a bad trade at all then. I hate to see Fiala go but this could be a trade that I could see guerin going after. He doesn’t have a large cap hit which is good! I’ve seen other trades like for konecny but idk if he’d want a large cap coming back. But also score a first rounder. Definitely multiple ways this could go! Should be exciting leading up to the draft

That’s what scares me but honestly it’s hard to see it happening in CAR at this point. I don’t think the team has handled him poorly but something isn’t clicking and he’s getting passed by guys like Jarvis which seems to continue to stunt his confidence and growth. As long as we get something good for him like Fiala it would blunt the pain from seeing him thrive somewhere else haha
