Miller still has another year, So technically Philly doesn't need permission to extend him. Once the trade is done they can just extend him on their own they still get the 8th year regardless.

I mean they can make sure the Miller camp will agree to their contract terms before PHI agrees to make the trade. That way they ensure they’re not just getting a 1 year rental.

Well yeah Philly doesn't make the deal unless J. T. Miller extends, That part i agree with.

I hope Fletcher forgets his brain at home during the draft this year. He traded 14 overall for Ristolainen so Philly is probably our best chance at snagging another first.

Didn’t Philly trade 14OA for Ristolainen without an extension? I thought they only recently signed him back

Yes they did, Which wasn't one of Chuck Fletchers brighter moments, Giving up the 14OA pick compared to the 5OA you'd definitely want to make sure that Miller was extended el pronto.

I don’t like the deal as a flyers fan, but it’s much better than all the jets fans thinking they can get 5OA, TK and frost for the locker room cancer known as Scheifele

Yeah that doesn’t get considered for Philly or at least it shouldn’t. We don’t want Miller

I don't think Philly gives a first rounder again.....for no apparent reason. I don't believe Liljegren is offer sheet eligible. Hasn't played 80 NHL games in the past two seasons.

Ah man, way to burst my bubble! I’ve been OS’ing him in multiple ACGM’s, and now I find out it isn’t possible. Damn.

I do this if I'm Vancouver. If the team isn't in the playoff race at the deadline they can further retain on JVR and get a pretty decent return on him. I wouldn't bother adding the 4th, in a trade this big it wont make a difference. Don't know is Philly does it.

This is incorrect. He was 18 or 19 when he signed his ELC which makes offersheet eligible if he has played 3 professional seasons which he has. It has absolutely nothing to do with playing 80 games.

Only problem is a contract extension can't happen until July 13th and the draft is July 7th.

True, but conversations and informal agreements can be made with agents beforehand. So it may not technically be included as a part of the trade conditions, but as long as VAN gives permission for the two sides to talk then there's no tampering.
